Thanks Vic and Spikey. I'm going to the Rioli Fund dinner tonight, money goes towards Aboriginal health, just thought it was on topic.

Daicos and Archer are guest speakers, as well as HG Nelson so hopefully they are interesting as I'm not a huge fan of the sport.
Archer is a god. Genuine god.

Always sounds like he's going to cry when he speaks though. But a great person.

Sick of hearing Archer in the Mazda ads on the radio.

Was also ordinary on Footy Classified.

Obviously gun bloke etc.

Him threatening to punch Carey his best moment itbt.

He was very funny tonight. Told us a story about Mick Martyn. What accent does Mick Martyn have? Archer's impersonation was terrible but great at the same time.

Adam Ramanauskas was there, Doug Hawkins, Peter Daicos but tbh I was more excited about HG Nelson who sat right behind me.

Not for a moment do I condone players not being recruited on the basis of their race. However, it will sadly be the case that, after what happened with Troy Taylor and Relton Roberts, certainly clubs like Richmond will think twice before taking on Aboriginal players from interstate. That's sad, but rather than pretend that it won't happen, the AFL perhaps need to do more to help players from interstate whose upbringing and values may make it difficult to adapt to the strictures and discipline of the AFL environment (it's much more structured than it used to be). The whole issue is more nuanced than just a race-based thing.

I guess what I'm saying is what Caroline Wilson is writing in today's edition of The Age, namely that sacking Matt Rendell and thinking that that is going to get rid of this problem is wrong headed.

Haha Mick Martyn is an Aussie through and through, he just couldn't talk properly. Would sort've mumble everytime he went to speak.

Martyn seriously had the worst speaking skills of any professional sportsperson. Must have been so hard to have a conversation with him.
