5th Test at The Oval, London

Looked pretty out to me tbh. Closer to ‘hitting’ than ‘missing’. Might feel harsher if there’s also a bit of doubt over the height or if he’s further forward.
Yeah in fairness I thought it was out live, mostly based on how the ball sort of pinged off towards cover. But it did look very legside-ish on the first replay.

Nevertheless, it wasn't hitting leg stump that hard or it wouldn't have been umpire's call.

If England pick Leach then Root should back him. Give him a long bowl after tea. Try to get Smith. Bowl Broad or Archer at the other end. Smith 730@146 right now.

I wasn’t in favour at the time but watching Curran now I wonder whether he should have played earlier. Makes the team balance funky but you are getting a good cricketer in for a bad one.

@Uppercut - I'm in the same boat. The left arm thing does seem to pose a different challenge to Smith.

Kinda. Everyone on field and comms got a little too overexcited about Smith getting struck on the pad when the ball was missing 4th stump.

Which step of the 7 stages of grieving is bargaining again?

It's 1am and I want to go to bed, but need to stay up to see:

Smith get his 4th hundred in an Ashes series - only Bradman has done this before.

Smith make 130 and be the fastest ever to 7000 runs by innings

Smith make 169 to pass Taylor as 2nd most runs for an Aussie in a series

Marsh to get a hundred to fulfill my prediction pre-test of 100 runs and 5 wkts for the match

An actual honest to god poor shot from Smith

Edit: well, half poor , because he kinda adjusted I suppose

Nasser bringing up the emotional presser then describing Marsh as 'throughly decent' the same words SteveNZ used this morning to describe him regarding that same presser

Interesting
