No idea, but Bradmans 974 record breaking series had scores of 8, 1 and 14 in his 7 innings, so Smith is way ahead of that :)
I remember being surprised to find that Bradman did have a lot more failures then people think.

Amazing conversion from 50 to 100, plus 0 dismissals in the nervous 90s plus an ability to turn half his 100s into 200s all big reasons why he averaged so high.

But it was common for him to follow a ton with a score under 20

Good research there. And good timing, as Smith reaches 41. I'd be astonished if anyone outdid this.
This has been outdone many times. A number of batsmen have made half centuries in every innings of a series in which they batted at least five times.

A summation of the situation at the moment.

Australia need these two to kick in and make up the bulk of the deficit. They cannot afford to go into the final innings chasing more than about 200. These are also the last two recognised batsmen.

England are well on top here. If Australia don't get a 100+ run lead this innings they will be fighting hard to save the test.

Having said that after a relatively shaky start, Smith looks set. Wade is also looking comfortable.

And I am going to bed.

I despise any and all talk about positive cricket. It doesn't even mean anything and they're always on about it on comms. The worst cricket cliché out there.

OK. Not doubting you, but it would be interesting to see who they were.
Walters did six in six against West Indies in 1968/69. Walters lowest score was 50.

Six batsmen have done five in five. Garry Sobers lowest score against India in 1966/67 was 50. Clive Lloyd's lowest score against England in 1981 was 58. Mark Taylor's lowest score against England in 1990 was 52. Inzamam's lowest score against England in 2005 was 53. Mohammad Yousuf's lowest score against West Indies in 2006 was 56. Shivnarine Chanderpaul's lowest score against England in 2007 was 50.

Wade looking all cross and angry, because he thinks he hit it. He didn't, but he did hit his pad with his bat.

Second time Australia got unlucky with an umpiring decision this innings. #taintedTest
