My day is off to an inauspicious start.
My mate has cancelled at the last second and he was my ride into the game. It also means we can't go the rage cover band after the game. Hope nothing serious has happened to my mate as he didn't offer much of an explanation.

McCullum & co have done well so far at getting NZ players to feel bullish and go out there and attack with confidence, rather than playing tentatively and nervously (like many teams of the past). So in that vein I'm feeling bullish too. Attack, 'execute skills' and do what they're good at doing so the other side feels tentative and nervous instead.

Go Black Caps!

West Indies has to bat first and put up 350+

If New Zealand bats first, Windies needs to limit them to less than 280 or they'll get bowled out by NZ.

NZ win the toss the have to bowl BUT Southee got the swing in the morning againts England if I remember correctly . This is an afternoon start. A lot to ponder by McCullum.

Yeah not overly confident myself, could see one of the WI batsman playing a blinder and us cracking. Any chance of rain ?

Nah, C'Mon Kiwis.........show a bit of confidence guy's!!

I get you are probably just not wanting to jinx yourselves by being too ****y about this, but FMD........you're the form team from group A playing the poorest team in the quarters. I don't think Gayle has got it in him anymore to go sick against a quality bowling attack and unless he does the Windies got nothing for you to be concerned about. I'm calling another very one sided game here..........NZ being way too strong for this ordinary Windies side.

I thought the main benefit of the Westpac was the excellent proximity to the train station. Surely the ride was only a nice to have? You'd probably end up walking much further with a lift in than you would catching the train.

Thanks Adders - that's calmed my nerves... a bit.
Yeah, you'll be right mate.......NZ got this.

All that said though I do get the nerves. Easy for me to say as I'm not invested in the game like you blokes..............if it we're Eng in this position (being in the qtrs and actually being a good side) I wouldn't be bigging us up, I'd be quietly confident but saying nothing lest I jinx it!!

We are going to win every knockout toss. That's how probability works. So pumped. We are going to rock.

Didn't know there was Maori in the NZ anthem.. pretty cool. More references to the divine than I expected though.
