4th Match - Australia v England

Silver Silva

International Vice-Captain
This game is getting tense now . I think Short and Labuschagne have just about kept this 50/50 after losing Head and Smith cheaply..

Can Short stay calm ?

Another thing that may hamper Australia is that they have quite a long tail , Dwarshuis appears to be competent in domestic cricket but none of the security that a Starc and Cummins brings to a run chase.

Carse getting the arse for Livingstone, he is already more economical after his first over.

England need wickets though.

Rubbish, Dwarshuis, Ellis and Zampa can all bat. Only Johnson is a bunny

Nice while it lasted. I don't feel super confident in Inglis tbh but in theory should be good for him to start against the spinners.

England were 2/132 after 20 overs, Australia not far behind at 3/129
This could go down to the wire, it would be nice to see a close finish in an ODI, you don't see too many of them these days.

The first 3 ODIs of this tournament have been all but over by this stage of the match and have been pretty boring to watch.

That's appealingly soft. That's why you can't count the team defending 350 out after just one good partnership from the batting side.

I think more realistically they're going to lose wickets too easily trying to keep the run rate up & get bundled out under 300. Short and Inglis haven't really done anything big at this level.

Aaand just like that another goes.

Short gone to spin, no surprise there, England should have bowled spin to him earlier.

I would be giving Root a bowl too.
