you can call it whatever. It is not 70s anymore. The days are long gone when any cricketer would be considered ATG by playing 5 test in his entire career in Asia.

Steve smith hasn't played a test in Asia since March 2017. Imagine the outrage if Ashwin, Kohli or Jadeja hadn't played a test in SENA countries in last 4 years.

It's actually September 2017 - he played two Tests in Bangladesh later that year. Given your laser focus on his average of 30 from that two-Test sample size, I'm surprised you forgot that.

As for that March 2017 series in India, Smith hit three centuries and averaged over 70 so I imagine he is as disappointed as anyone that the scheduling Gods have prevented him from returning for more.
