May as well try for a run-out now as anything. After all, three of the dismissals in India's first innings were.
I don't think it was WadeSecond time Wade has hit him. Pathetic.
Yes, Paine does seem too stubborn/funky at times with tactics. Clarke had amongst the best intution about where the game was going.I feel that one thing which separates Clarke's captaincy with the likes of Paine is that Clarke always had a very good intuitive sense of when to change tactics. I feel like Paine often just lets things go a bit when they're not working. The game drifts occasionally under his leadership. Whereas Clarke's captaincy was always sharp and proactive.

What would've happened if he didn't do it? OTOH India seem closer to victory than Australia. But equally it's far more likely that one of those balls that went up in the air goes to a fielder if India were trying to win the game.they did. but the bloke on strike has a busted hamstring, so they've stonewalled for the last three hours.
and one brainharsha had a line when pant got out
india's chances of a draw rested on one batsman, one hamstring and one hand
Starc doesn't deliver when it mattersbut seriously where was this spell before, i don't know, *the literal last hour of the test match*
yeah if they actually went for the win, then imo this test is done roughly an hour ago. it's a lot easier to survive on this pitch than survive *and* score quickly, especially if they decide to bounce you. What would've happened if he didn't do it?
