3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

For some reason, teams never keep it simple. At Headingley you need to push it a little fuller and make sure a decent number of your deliveries target the stumps and test the forward defence.
The odd thing is how often other countries have done that better than England at Leeds.

Yeah it just felt like it really had that sort of potential at the start of the innings. Touch wood but looks like the worst of that might have passed for now. I don't think we need a big score, merely a competitive one.
Yeah when I realised we were going to be batting first I was like anything over 150 isn't terrible. It's probably a bit of a different case now as there's a good chance that a lot of our innings will be when it's sunny but given England's bowling 300 would still be a good total.

I hate the “too good to nick” chat as well.

If you’re bowling dozens of deliveries that the batsman “isn’t good enough to nick” then you’re not bowling the right line/length.

Be a good total given our bowlers tbh

An upside to batting first is our bowlers get more rest. Assuming we can manage to bat out a whole day.

Just catching up with that session and lol at that being the ball that Broad got a wicket with.

Just got back from the pub. Warner hasn't been convincing at all, but as his innings went on he started to look better at the crease
