phenomenal knock. i was waking up every so often and when i woke up with 2 to win, leach on strike i couldn't believe it. amazing chase, and a real credit to england and especially stokes (and root) for harnessing every last drop of talent in that batting order to get there.

given there were no fluke of nature and umpire assists this was even better than the wc final from england imo

i stand by my comments from 12 hours ago. execute the entire australian bowling attack. not defending 360 against a team who struggle to make 50 dangerously often is a capital offense.

I haven't felt this bad about a result for 14 years.

Australia's threw this one away but Ben Stokes was rewarded for his ridiculous all round game.

If you were to show a non fan any test match to show them how terrible cricket truly is, this is the game to show them. It had everything. It was a rollercoaster with momentum shifting from one side to the other every day and sometimes between every session.

Stokes kept the series alive. With Jimmy and TPC back next match both sides won't have any excuses or places to hide. A nine day break is perfect for Australia to debrief and regroup in an attempt to regain momentum. It's also enough time for the English to sober up.

What a ridiculous series. So entertaining.
