3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Just catching up now and wow. I didn’t think they’d take the new ball, at least not until England demonstrated an ability to get the old one off the square.
I wonder if they might've delayed it had Root not got out. They probably thought if they got Bairstow early they could run through England after that. Not an unreasonable belief either.

This definitely looks like three best batting conditions of the match. I still reckon we're favourites but this is a good fight. We're either in for some history or retaining the Ashes for the first time since 2001. Could be a cracker of a finale. Would be great if England were 9/330 overnight.

Oh dear. Those last two balls are killer. Make the pace yourself with one of them, then a solid edge falls safe.

The thing about Warne's commentary is that it's great when the match is in three balance and he's taking cricket. It's woeful when he goes off topic or gets bored and stats talking declarations.

Imagine if England had Archer, Broad, Anderson and Leach to come instead of Archer, Woakes, Broad and Leach. That's part of why I think dropping Woakes for Anderson is a bad idea.

Pitch has really flattened out for seamers but turning a lot

Have no faith in Lyon despite his 350 odd wickets

Much better in the last 20 minutes. But it'll all be for naught if England are still 4 down.

Labuschagne on? Interesting.

Might have rolled Australia for 100 in the first innings in that instance though.
