Not sure where Athers got the idea that Thisara was a "dangerous bowler". For his own team sure.

First Class Debutant
Would rather see Taylor in ahead of Morgan, he's good at rotating the strike and will move around the crease and put the bowlers off there line and length.

Can someone explain to Bumble and Knight that the reason England slowed down is because they lost two wickets as a result of batsman playing forceful shots. Not sure they know that.

Lakmal didn't get his line right in the first two overs. Has been right on the money in the second spell.
England gave him every opportunity to get his line right. They just let people bowl whether they're part-timers, have 2 overs for 28 or what.

They lost two wickets because they played half-hearted shots. There's no clear intent in what they're doing. It's just innocuous dismissal after innocuous dismissal.

TBH he certainly isnt a part time. He had a bad start in this game but he has been very consistent for usin the other games, hasnt picked up too many wickets but tends to bowl good lines and lengths and with a decent economy rate..

Seems like Tishara has way too low of a release point for a man of his height. He should be able to generate more pace and bounce with a smoother upright action.

I'm trying to think if there's any other England cricketer who I have a bigger differential in love/hate in this form than Tests. Love him in Tests, just find it utterly baffling he's played as many 3 World Cups bas ed on 4 ODI hundreds, with a run-rate of under 77.

I suppose Prior and Vaughan were irritating too, but combined those 2 didn't play as many as Bell.

Has Perera always been so slow or has he lost pace? Certainly seems the weak link in the attack whom the best teams will target.

Tbf to England this is far from a disastrous position at the moment. Issue is it's England and we know they'll play the next 15/20 overs poorly because they always do.

he has always been about this pace, has never been quick just more of a "hit the bat hard" type bowler..agre, he should be quicker given his size(well at least compared to the rest of us SL's lol)

I like the Bell-Moeen opening combination. Left had right hand, one a bit more aggressive than the other. Can see off the new ball and avoid a collapse more often than not. Will not get you a truck load of runs at great pace but at least ensures runs upfront in all likelihood.

I so should've got a part time job a couple of years ago and saved up to go to some of this World Cup.
