I think he will be back to around 145 come the quarters. Coming off an injury so probably not want to stretch it just yet.

SL have been poor in general in the field this WC. Can't afford to be with the bowling line-up they have.

I like Sri Lanka's bowling. Lakmal has been good in most gsmes so far. Angelo does a job. Hearth is amazing. Dilshan bowls smartly. Then Malinga doesn't have a bad game and is will be back at his normal self hopefully.

Dilshan going for next to nothing makes me think Sena would've bowled well here. tbf Eng aren't in any rush atm, and they can afford to just go at 4/over till the 30th and still get 300.

Contrary to popular belief, this is actually the stage where England need to be more boring.

I'm not sure the lack of singles is because they're trying to hit too many boundaries, or not being boring enough. I think our lot just suck at rotating the strike. Compare it to a team like India where pretty much every batsman can work a perfect line ball for a single with use of the wrists etc. If England could just limit it to three dot balls every over it would be heaven but it always feels like there's at least a couple more than that.

Oh indeed. 'Be more boring' is a statement of outcome rather than intent

We might witness the rare sighting of an Angelo 10th over today.

Surprised to see that his fastest was 140k. Faster than Malinga today.

unlucky for bell there but i suppose he has had his luck in the innings too so swings and roundabouts..

Yeah this isn't a gameplan error; it's just something England's batsmen aren't very good at. It's amazing how often people think just taking more singles is just a conscious thing rather than a specialised skill. Maybe they should work harder at developing that part of their games, but it's not a matter of just changing tactics.

Lakmal didn't get his line right in the first two overs. Has been right on the money in the second spell.
