[Line and Length]

The votes have been counted for positions 19-21.
53 - Davidson; 31 - S.Pollock; 21 - Verity; 20 - Ashwin; 14 - Walsh; 11 - Cummins; 8 - Laker; 6 - Grimmett;
3 - Adcock, Robers, Philander; 1 - Miller.
While Davidon and Pollock have retained their spots from the 2022 poll, Verity has climbed over Laker and Grimmett to be 2 spots higher than in the 2022 spinners rankings.
Voting is now open for places 22-24.

I appreciate the efforts by the administrator. But this exercise is becoming a bit of a joke.

A spinner who took 3.6 wickets per game (144 wickets in 40 tests @ 77.6 SR) is being picked ahead of better spinners and countless better fast bowlers

I appreciate the efforts by the administrator. But this exercise is becoming a bit of a joke.

A spinner who took 3.6 wickets per game (144 wickets in 40 tests @ 77.6 SR) is being picked ahead of better spinners and countless better fast bowlers

11 members voted for Verity, thus considering him better than other spinners voted in the poll (ie Ashwin, Laker and Grimmett). With regard to 'countless better fast bowlers' the fact that we have 17 fast bowlers to only 4 spinners selected indicates the difficulty in comparing quicks to spinners.
With regard to you saying 'this exercise is becoming a bit of a joke', it was 'a bit of a joke' when one member voted Ashwin ahead of Marshall, McGrath, Hadlee, Murali et al from the very first round of voting.
Perhaps these comments (yours and mine) would have been better placed in the recently opened thread for comments on this poll.

I don't know if CW provisions to check older posts, so if you know that that is not possible as well, you are obviously asking a question that you know the answer to.

Because whoever goes and edits later/ whoever votes late or last can alter the whole result because they can count and see who needs what

in an ideal voting process we wouldn't be aware of who others are voting for so that we are not being influenced and also so that we can't alter the result with 1-2 vote changes.

This is a ****ing appalling post. The nature of the voting means you might want to vote for someone in the next round but they get on the list in an earlier round ahead of a player you reckoned was better and voted for earlier.

My main crib is because he chose a convenient time to close the poll after two posters voted for Verity and then he himself edited his post just today to Verity. Can't get more obvious than that. That L&L doesn't favor Ashwin has been apparent in many of his posts but he should not have been going to such an extent to not get him into the rankings.
