2024–25 NZ domestic season

The same guy who raved to me about Foulkes when he debuted reckons Paul is just as good a prospect… Exciting time down in Canterbury.
There's something in the water in Canterbury Country.

Hopefully that something is more mystical than just the march of Christchurch westwards into non earthquake-prone Canterbury Country satellite suburbs. I want it to be something like Peter Fulton super-coaching in Oxford (Or Darfield or wherever he's from).

Conway, Ravindra, Blundell, Latham, Mitchell, O'Rourke missing this round of PS.

The only one of those I am ok with is O'Rourke. Because he's a bolwer

The Wellington 3, especially Blundell. C'mon! You guys need a hit.

Rachin you've been **** since Bangalore.

Conway and Blundell are / should be on the verge of getting dropped. (TBH, I get the hunch it might be Conway's last test series voluntarily anyway)
Diabolical IMO - has to be black caps directed resting, or they're doing some advanced training session or something. if they're worried about injuries, they're obviously not as worried about Williamson or Southee, although their game time has obviously been less than the others (well, Southee 1 test less). All those guys bar Ravindra should absolutely be champing at the bit for time in the middle. And Ravindra's young, he'd probably want to be out there too.

Unless they're fearful of mass injuries.

Some odd selections. Younghusband to open? No Lennox for CD, but going with Angus Schaw as spinner (I presume). Siddhesh Dixit making a debut for Auckland (not even heard of this chap). Dunno much about Janett either though from what I've seen and heard, Cam Paul should be good. I was going to pick him in the domestic draft - I thought we had another round. Should have picked him in hindsight.

Probably just terrified of L Georgeson's medium pacers tbh. For good reason, too.

And Wellington should be debuting O Jackson in this situation. With either Severin or Greenwood moved up to open. One of the seamers dropping out of the 11. Assuming he is available.
Yeah even the 12th man is a bowler. I'm fine with Younghusband opening but it's stupidly disrespectful to the next batting cab off the rank to have a 6-bowler squad (+ Abbas and Greenwood).

On the missing blackcaps.

Giving it more thought. I've worked out that they are missing each an away round.

So, not a 'too much cricket' reason. But a 'too much time away from home" reason.

I'm actually sympathetic to that. E.g. 5 nights in a Nelson or Dunedin motel is probably not required at this stage after 2 months on the road in Asia.

Consider my head wound back in a bit.

well isn't that just an entirely logical and reasonable justification. damn

Jacob Cumming coming back into the Otago side to join his brother, having never bowled before in 17 FC games and dropped for the previous game, gets the ball before his brother who bats 7 spots lower and now has the same number of FC wickets as him. Pretty funny dismissal too.

Not sure what the go is with Nick Greenwood. He was down to bat 4, but now coming in below van Beek. Wellington have a long tail, so it's odd to pick a batsman to do this. Seems a straight swap of Younghusband and Greenwood in the batting order... Unless the scorecard's wrong.

Must be injured, one would think.
