2024–25 NZ domestic season

The dropped catch was unlucky and I like his enthusiasm... but despite trying everything - fast, slow, bouncers, full, the hairdo and delivering three meters behind the crease - Tickner just continues to go for big runs every single match.

Bit of a painful innings for Blundell so far. He's lucky the bloke down the other end is striking at 180.

Lovely clean striking from Robinson, he's convinced me he deserves more NZ chances.

Clark bowls extremely hittable medium pace.
Definitely reaping the benefits of exposure to the higher level, and how to score runs.

It's a hell of a time to be alive if you are a young cricketer with something unique ie speed, can whack it etc. So many examples of guys who have received international call-ups on the basis of very little evidence, but that 'player of interest' tag: BJ Jacobs, Robinson, Jake Fraser McHack, Cooper Connelly just got a call-up to a Test tour after 4 FC games, Josh Hull played for England averaging 59 with the ball, Bashir did similar, and so on.

For that reason, I wish we'd get Fisher in the fold.

Jeez that was a tortured innings from Blundell.
The demise of Tom from takes on the world's best bowling attack at the G, to dominating England and '**** this guy might be BETTER than BJ' to someone who drops straight forward chances and seemingly can't hold a bat - except in meaningless efforts - has been quite remarkable.

Schaw is actually pretty handy with that drift away, by rights earned Robinson's wicket, if CD could catch.

Randall has been very good today too.

I reckon Brett Randall is the most underrated seamer in the country. 100 FC wickets at 25s, just as good in List A, swings it both ways on his day, hits a hard length, very accurate...but probably isn't muscling much past 130 clicks so doesn't register interest higher up.

16 yr old Hugo Bogue on 85 off 58 balls. At the under 19 tournament a year ago he got a 143 off 142 balls.

Again, not sure what the point of Greenwood batting that low is. Must be some plan, but I don't understand it! Even stranger today that Johnson was due to bat below Greenwood. Johnson I guess has a low SR, but Greenwood's is better than Abbas' or Tashkoff's.

He's quite feast or famine, isn't he? I mean, it could come in handy for bolstering a rather weak Otago batting lineup à la Llew Johnson.
Not sure, I just remember some mentioned him last season (partly I think because he has a cool name). The other day he opened and got a duck. Today he batted 4 and kept wicket. Ended on 114 not out off 84.

Boyle and Cleaver are making a good fist of this run chase.

Boyle who? Dude's nearly 29 and has been ordinary career to date across all forms and is suddenly Viv Richards in his last couple of games. Where's this come from?
