Interestingly Ajaz wasn't actually very accurate. Being a short finger spinner the stereotype is that you make up for your lack of physical advantages with accuracy and guile, but the pitchmaps didn't actually back that up. He's such a weird bowler because it's hard to piece together how he was so successful in domestic cricket where the wickets gave him nothing, and then useless in internationals outside of ragging pitches.Gulati has some similarities to Ajaz in trajectory, drift and seam presentation.
Also accurate like Ajaz.
Similar for Cleaver must be frustrating to be so near international level and yet so far. Tbf both did get a handful of NZ chances... Sometimes that's all you get.Bruce is too good for this level. Shame he hasn't ben able to get a proper go in internationals.
Hope you're right about Clarkson, but I get the feeling he's another Tom Bruce in terms of domestic dominance without quite being able to step up to the next level. This has been a really good return by Clarkson too. I'm sure he's capable of a lot better at international level than he's shown so far, so hopefully he'll get another shot one day. Jacobs might leapfrog him, though.
Love BJ but can't see him going anywhere in the coaching world. Coaching needs more than the 'I work hard, I succeed' mentality that got him so far as a playerJeez BJ's going to be a bit dour after that outing innit he.
Under 19 tournament underway. I see van Zyl got a ton before being run out. Not enough for Akl to get up against Wellington.I see Westlake's Jordan van Zyl won NZ Young Player of the Year in March. Family immigrated to NZ about 18 months ago. Was top run scorer at last years Gillette Cup.

BJ strikes me as a fantastic batting coach/support staff, but yeah head coach can't quite see it.Love BJ but can't see him going anywhere in the coaching world. Coaching needs more than the 'I work hard, I succeed' mentality that got him so far as a player
