2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Not entirely sure why Scott isn't playing this game, especially after going so well last time out. Would have to assume he is carrying some sort of injury, but I haven't heard anything concrete on that

Connolly coming across as a bit of a dick here. Says he earned his Test spot and yet he's only played 3 shield games, never hit a FC hundred and never taken a FC wicket

His "Always love coming back to play for WA" is also cringe like he's some superstar coming back to play with the plebs (he's the most inexperienced player in WA team)

I mean I obviously disagree with him getting picked for Tests in the first place, but those comments come across to me as standard cricketer media platitudes, nothing more and nothing less

He wasn't ever exactly going to come out and say "I don't know why they picked me" now

Good to see Vidler playing.

Got no sound on (double screening this with the racing from Albert Park) but it looks like he was bowling some decent heat in his first over

Well this not looking good for a "Qld must win game to get in the final". SA racing along in first session

Yeah happy enough with that, pitch does look a bit on the roady side though. Apparently it's an Adelaide Oval drop in transplanted out to KRO, but it's played pretty much as a standard KRO deck

Also, Ollie Peake dayboo for Victoria. Misread the team initially, Harper dropped (which I absolutely hate, Handscomb isn't a FC keepers arsehole) and still 5 bowlers

Also, Ollie Peake dayboo for Victoria. Turns out I was talking nonsense earlier, as they have indeed lengthened their batting
Handscomb as keeper is....interesting. Might be one way to handle their balance given their lack of a good all-rounder when Short isn't playing.

I'd be targeting Shaw hard during the off-season. Given the presence of Philippe, Gilkes having a pretty decent season for once and Hicks looking the goods he's gonna struggle for games in the NSW XI.

If by interesting you mean catastrophically stupid, I agree. Genuinely hope the Vics lose by an innings and 200 because of that

As for Shaw, yeah seems not the worst idea from a Vic perspective. Only question is how good his glovework actually is, the fact that Gilkes kept ahead of him in that one game earlier where Philippe was out is hardly a ringing endorsement of his work behind the stumps
