Women’s football is still in its infancyYeah I don't get it either. If the matches were all 7-6, I might give it some credence, but that might be fun in itself. Actually considering the average height back when the goals were made, perhaps the mens should be bigger, but let's face it neither is happening.
As for Perry, there's no guarantee that she would have stayed in the Matildas side, injuries are more prevelant in football than cricket, and it's not like a defender in woman's football earns anything like in mens, think she easily made the right choice, she's got the Bash and IPL coming up, the coins still fairly big.
I don't get the pitch size change in football as women aren't any less fit are they?Main objection in Australia was cost of changing goals for different games at club level
Also an argument for reducing field size but that involves even more problems
People forget or ignore that women’s cricket is played with a lighter ball
Less power so crosses float inI don't get the pitch size change in football as women aren't any less fit are they?
It's not really in it's infancy, it may have been when Perry scored that great goal, but she made the right choice imho, shame people can't do dual-sports nowadays. Oh and wasn't Barty pretty **** at cricket?Women’s football is still in its infancy
Perry’s goal would be goal of the tournament as it wasn’t a tap in & truly a world class strike
Perry, Barty and Cathy Freeman would be global football superstars because they’re elite athletes playing against kids
being kind of mid in the premier women's t20 league in the world is still putting you in the top 0.01% of players of that sport thoughIt's not really in it's infancy, it may have been when Perry scored that great goal, but she made the right choice imho, shame people can't do dual-sports nowadays. She's gonna need to get used to that.“I still feel a bit like [I have] impostor syndrome,” she says. “You know, do I belong here? I don’t actually know. I sometimes forget that I actually play for the Matildas, even for Sydney FC. When I’m walking around, some people want my photo and I get a bit shocked and a bit awkward.”
Both options would hugely benefit defensive play though, which I don't think the women's game needs. Would probably make it pretty dire to watch as teams would be able to crowd out any space.Less power so crosses float in
Goal size makes more sense to me
That’s an incentive to throw the gameIf we lose a football semi-final to Australia, everyone involved should be barred from re-entry to the country.
