Looking forward to McMandrew running through the WA batting line-up today

then running through the local female population after play

Still think Tasmania could do with an extra specialist seamer, still don't think Owen and Hope really fit in the same side

Clayton has been going alright of recent times. Finished last season fairly strongly, healthy enough start for him this summer though

Neser coming in at 5 for Queensland is an interesting development. Wonder if that is a choice the QLD setup came to themselves, or if Jolimont St had any say in the matter?

Also, not going too badly for South Australia now which is always good to see. This partnership concerns me though

EDIT: ****

Maybe they realised targeting Green's spot is his best way back into the test side (where he could bat 7)

Agree that seems like that is probably the logic behind this decision, but the question I was asking is who the "they" you speak of is? Don't know if Queensland and/or Neser himself have decided to go that way, or if there was a directive coming from higher up, that is what I was wondering

Obviously been batting well but Neser rarely bats that high in club stuff unless it’s white ball
I think he's just clearly improved, maybe a bit like Noffke at a similar age.

I remember when he first came into the Queensland one day side as a kid people weren't entirely sure what had a higher ceiling out of his batting and bowling. His bowling developed quicker but I think his batting is catching up / taking over in his early-mid 30s which makes sense when you consider when quicks and batsmen usually peak.

Another unbeaten 50 for him today.

Think that is a really good summary actually. Definitely see the Noffke circa 2007-08 similarities

Of course after that Noffke moved to WA and then faded from the scene with injuries not long after, I certainly can't see that happening to Neser, but as the way things stand right now compared to that point their career trajectories with the blade are not dissimilar

I compared him to Noffke months ago you ****s

Looking now more like Neser's batting jas just gotten really good whereas Noffke had an insane peak period with both bat and ball

Friend of mine coached him as a teenager and still sees him from time to time when Michael wants some help

He felt that Neser would end up a better batsman than bowler at higher levels due to lack of height and pace

Really hard worker and helluva nice guy

Can see him playing County stuff for many more years and should get some more opportunities for Australia and also t20 leagues
