Kraigg Brathwaite has signed for Gloucestershire and will be available for the first couple of months of the County season.

Both him and Joseph are playing until they have to return for the Pakistan series. It should do them good, I wonder which other windies players are in talks with counties

Hampshire have Kyle Abbott and Mo Abbas opening their bowling in their warmup game vs Sussex.

Banton has opened the batting a couple of times in preseason for Somerset. Not sure he is the guy you really want opening the batting in red ball cricket.

Abbott and Abbas ended up with 0 wickets in 23 overs today. Upstaged by English spinners Dawson and Crane taking 5 wickets in their 26 overs.

Ollie Pope with a serene ton for Surrey today vs a decent middlesex attack including TRJ, Murtagh, Harris and Helm before he was undone by Gubbins part time leg spin.

Some clubs doing impressive things with their streams. Looking forward to the season.

Surrey opening the bowling with Dunn and Jamie Overton in their warmup today.ugh. Currans away at the IPL for the first couple of months. Roach can't come soon enough for the championship cricket.

Batting should be ok in the championship though. Burns and Pope will play a decent amount. Foakes, Amla, Jamie Smith, Stoneman.

They seem to have accrued a very large squad there at Surrey, and made some questionable moves in the market. They do have a lot of England players so it's not surprising that they required reinforcements but some of them look questionable.

Notts without a win in championship cricket since June 2018 and yet somehow 4th favourites for the title with the bookmakers.

No expectation for us this season, no fresh faces exactly the same starting xi as last year which was a disaster and a tough start against Somerset. The majority of the sqaud have been around many years and have all been in decline and the youngsters don't seem to be good enough. No overseas to give us a boost either. But this is one year I can't blame the club as we are in tough times and I will be happy just to visit lords to see us play as soon as possible

Durham at 66-1 and Northants at 50-1 with some bookmakers are my outside bets for the championship. Durham have been slowly strengthening their squad over the last few years- Borthwick, Raine and Coughlin returning and the likes of Lees, Bedingham and Salisbury proving shrewd signings too. Northants have a decent first xi who are comfortable in early season conditions with decent medium pacers- looking forward to seeing if Vasconcelos can push on with the bat - very De Kock like.

Reckon Saqib Mahmood of Lancashire might have a good red ball season and be pushing for ashes selection- although there are a big group of seamers now forming behind Anderson and Broad who might be good enough for test cricket but can't get past those two greats.

Yorkshire off to a flyer having Glamorgan 12-2. Coad and Fisher with the new ball, be interesting to see how many games Fisher plays this season as we know the talent is there but the fitness has always been lacking.

Vince at 5 (rather than 3 and 4 where he has mainly batted in previous years) could cause some real damage.

Critchley's batting kind of reminds me of Ashwin. Kinda languid but quite naturally skilled. Critchley possibly batting one spot too high at 6, at least for a decent championship side.

De Lange not exactly starting with a bang, see how good the score is after we bat, thing we maybe struggling but we'll see.

Our top three are all going to be called Tom, which is odd really...
