Chapman is good... he's really good white ball cricketer. He got called in for black caps but as a bowler last year vs India He should be given a go, bit of a long rope I'd think. He's not played enough to be judged yet IMO. With Conway and Young waiting in the wings can't see how he's going to get a go. He should be definitely tried in white ball cricket considering the WC is in India in couple of years time, he's a bloody good player of spin as well.I'm always surprised at the lack of chat/hype about Chapman on this thread. He hasn't done too well at the next level, but of all the next crop of batters, he's the one that's had the most chances for the BC's. I rate him, and I remember reading a really interesting article on him a few months ago - he owns a cricket gear company that makes all of the new arm guards that everyone is now wearing. I will try and find the article.
On another note, is anyone else seriously concerned about Ish Sodhi's bowling? Having watched the last few rounds of his bowling in PS the guy looks like he has zero idea where it's going. Way, way worse than the odd long hop that he usually bowls. Concerning for the big fan of spin in me.
There was a lot of hype on him pre-Blackcaps debut to be fair.I'm always surprised at the lack of chat/hype about Chapman on this thread. You've just reminded it's almost the time of the year where I make my case for Santa yet again. On another note, is anyone else seriously concerned about Ish Sodhi's bowling? Actually now that I reflect back, I tend to agree with this. What initially made me gush over him look at him was moreso the "ease" he played with.i see what you mean, but i remember watching kitchen is his 20s. he was balance and timing more than technique even then.
As someone who defended Sodhi in his formative years as I thought the amount of time and investment in him would reap rewards or see improvement or development in some way, I whole heartedly agree with this.On another note, is anyone else seriously concerned about Ish Sodhi's bowling? Crikey, now you want Chapman in too. There's only 11 spots per version.Chapman is good... he's really good white ball cricketer. He got called in for black caps but as a bowler last year vs India He should be given a go, bit of a long rope I'd think. He's not played enough to be judged yet IMO. One issue I have with the Black Caps set up is that they barely ever make a change. It's the same XI going on and on and on. Sure it is producing results right now but there is no building of bench strength. Spare chances here and there for Phillips, Chapman, Mitchell, Tickener, etc but never on a consistent basis. I barely ever see a NZ A player given a go even when they go well. There's definitely gaps in white ball cricket.
Maybe don't be a dick throughout the year then you won't be on the naughty list. You've just reminded it's almost the time of the year where I make my case for Santa yet again.
Absolute bag full of runs for ND. Almost impossible to get out on flat ones.Hick played FC cricket in NZ?
