2020/21 New Zealand Domestic Season

haha, bowling length to sloggy tailenders though is a criminal offence.
Think they had to risk it for the biscuit though. When he went full it ended up exactly how I thought it would. Now that I think of it though, it was the field that was wrong. One guy at mid wicket ish but everyone else was pretty deep. Didn't work

There were so many length balls yesterday. If you watch Young's knock as well you'll see the ones he sent a distance were all mostly length balls on the stumps. I guess they wanted to be lot fuller given the square boundaries at the outer oval but missed a length by a bit and was taken full toll.

Was never quite a fan of Darryl Mitchell but have had a change of heart recently. He's been batting so well. In the past used to slog a bit but now his shots are all around the ground. His bowling has improved too. Definitely come of age. Sure shot to play at least 4-5 years for Black Caps I think. Will be a perfect replacement for CDG whenever he calls it off or goes off boil.

And this is the last time I'm going to say this because I'm going to write to them...the Spark highlights are so gash. They played the 'catch' off Young once, which I know **** all about because they never replayed it. Then we don't get the six at the end of the 19th over, which is about as important as any ball of the game. There's just no rhyme or reason to it.
Agreed. How hard is it to put together some decent highlight packages? Not to bring out the big bash comparison again, but jeez, they do highlights well.

Super Smash highlights are a weird mix of missed boundaries, missed wickets and unnecessary replays. And then when we actually need a replay, they skip over it, leaving it as an exercise to the viewer to figure out what happened.

Hopefully better next year.

I'm obviously happy for Canterbury to reach the final, though I think they aren't a particularly 'fun' team to watch. Just a good, solid team. I fully expect Wellington to crush the final too. Could be a make or break game for Finn Allen as I've seen he's listed himself as an IPL prospect. Playing well under finals pressure would be a big selling point.

I rarely bother with their highlights, I think they need to be 15 to 20 minutes to capture all the key moments. At the end of the first innings on the full replay they do a quick re-run of every boundary shot. I've been trying to then watch the 2nd innings replay.

Jayden Lennox bowled really well again. Unlucky to miss a caught and bowled off Mitchell when he was on about 40.

Yeah, exactly. And hey, the guy/girl doing it probably is inexperienced. But if you're going to take over the rights and charge us for it, get it right. It frustrates the hell out of me. Make it 5 minutes longer and put more stuff in, that's fine.

Canterbury finished top of the table, so they deserved it. Blaze not going too well under pressure in the final few overs there.

As a 90s Firebirds fan I do have to say this has all the hallmarks of a spectacular disaster to end the season with an infamous defeat at the hands of Canterbury.

At least Canterbury don’t have half the NZ team returning just in time for the final this time, I guess.

Anyway, great day at the Basin today, awesome crowd, it’s pumping!!!

Interesting to see the speed gun in this match. Sears late 130s/early 140s - looks faster than what he actually is.

Edit: Not down-breeze though, so that no doubt adds a few ks.

That is the biggest hit I've ever seen at the Basin. Was sure that was going on the Vance roof for a moment. Just cut under the eves.
