I can't believe that there are people who genuinely believe that Australia is the only country that does not prepare wickets that best suit them at a given time...........of course they do, as does everybody. And there is nothing ****ing wrong with it at all.

Seriously, is this some attempt to gain the moral high ground??

I think where Australia is concerned though it does become a little tricky as to what is the best wicket to suit them and not hand the same advantage to the opposition. I'm thinking of the MCG wicket in 2010 which looked like my back lawn on day 1........no doubt at all that that was prepared as a result of the thumping the Aussies dished out in Perth the test before and it was believed that was the sort of wicket that they would fair better on than England. We all know it backfired in the most LOLworthy way possible but that is still a glaring example of the Aussies dishing up a wicket totally out of the grounds normal offerings because they thought it would advantage the home side..........

Again, nothing wrong with it at all, but don't ****ing kid yourself thinking it's only the dirty POMS or Subcontinent teams that would commit such a dastardly act.

the aussies are the worst at it because at least the doctored pitches in india made it a bowler's game where batsmen had to be at the epitome of their game to just make 30

seeing ashwin get wickets for fun is way more entertaining than seeing the world's most "quirky" (read: ridiculous) batsman getting all of these easy runs against kemar roach

Australia prepare roads because they can't bat and they have Glenn McGrath, Ryan Harris, the second coming of Mitch etc so they can get away with it.

I've kinda glossed through the last million pages because it was boring but I don't know why the above offends people. Lehmann is always the first to cry pitch doctoring after his merry band of hacks capitulate or can't blast anyone out and he can't bring himself to admit the above because he believes Australian pitches are the gold standard coz aussie aussie aussie. It's hilarious.

No one's argued that Australia don't prepare roads though.

What hb was arguing though was... actually, I don't know what hb was arguing, he seemed to contradict himself every few posts.

my problem with australian cricket by and large is when they try to pass off being a tool as "aggression." eg:

genuine aggression:
mitchell johnson giving james anderson a fiery glare after he ducks a fiery bouncer in the 13/14 ashes

tool behavior:
"get ready for a broken ****ing arm"

genuine aggression:
cranking up your pace to 150km/ph trying to get rid of the resolute ross taylor and kane williamson with searing yorkers

tool behavior:
following craig and then pegging the ball at him when he backs out during your run up

yeah i admitted i had read like maybe several paragraphs of the previous few pages, most of them short quips and snarks from posters not really in the debate.

alright guys australia doesn't use any home advantage which is why they score 550-4 every first innings at home then lose everything the moment they cross any kind of body of water. The problem here is clearly that the oceans are casting a curse on australia's batsmen.
Beat the WI's in the WI's, beat SL in SL and beat SA in SA , yeah they lost a few matches overseas but they also won a few.

You're gonna get murdered in NZ this year. There will be movement and your batsmen won't know how to play it.

Don't see anything wrong there, just your usual cricket match with a bit of life. Tool behavior is when you tell other players about the spirit of cricket while you keep to yourself that one of your countrymen is involved in match fixing.

Probably no point saying this, it will go in one ear and out the other, but Australia genuinely do not go out of their way to prepare pitches to help them at all. In any sense. In fact the opposite, recent pitches have hurt them more then helped them and the players and management have been very vocal about changing that. It's not hard to see either, it's blindingly obvious. Baffling that this is so hard for you guys to accept.

And no, it has nothing to do with moral high ground, and no, no one said or implied anything about "dirty POMS" or it being a "dastardly act", that's just trolling plain and simple and idiotic posting. Quite the opposite if you were to actually pay any attention to where the conversation started. I and several others said that Australia need to start doing this better and preparing more pitches to suit them and help them win better, not that other countries should stop.

This thread shows a massive failure of basic reading comprehension and honestly is starting to sound like some weird anti-Australian agenda which is outright bizarre but the only other explanation is that a plethora of otherwise sensible posters are turning into raving idiots upon entering this thread for some reason.

Aussies can justify making roads if they can back it up with away wins against decent teams.. I rate their victory against SA highly but not sure if it's enough to wash off shambles that occurred in England/ uae/ India

Teams consistently scoring 500-600 per 5

How can it be any good? How long before runs in Australia will stop counting altogether?
