It really is kinda mad that even after almost 20 years, the second highest successful chase is more than 60 runs behind the 438 game
Ah right. I didn't read the post just the list lol.I assume thats what he meant by the Big Three, 99 SF, 2019 Final and 438
SL would have chased 415 if not for Nehra’s last over.It really is kinda mad that even after almost 20 years, the second highest successful chase is more than 60 runs behind the 438 game
Ha, yeah I probably should have explicitly spelled out the top three!Ah right. I didn't read the post just the list lol.
It was in the days when the BBC still televised one of the matches from each round. If you watched this live, it's always going to be hard to forget.I'd never seen that scorecard - that's incredible.
I was reminiscing the other day about how damned good (for county cricket) that mid-late 90s Lancashire seam attack was in one day matches. Wasim, Martin, Austin, Chapple, Watkinson, deFreitas in the early years, Freddie later on. They were always there or there abouts in the one day comps. It was in the days when the BBC still televised one of the matches from each round. And yet that Surrey line up was arguable even stronger - Stewart, Thorpe, Butcher, Brown, Waqar, Bicknell, Lynch.I was reminiscing the other day about how damned good (for county cricket) that mid-late 90s Lancashire seam attack was in one day matches. Lol holy **** what a scorecard. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a scorecard like that before.Funny you should say that, this match has always lived long in my memory for a similar reason. Surrey cruising to victory need 25 runs with 9 wickets remaining against Lancs, cue a Wasim inspired collapse.....they would only score another 18!! He may not have taken the wickets, but it was his spell that sparked it and he was impossible to score off (think he went for plenty early on in the innings).

Something else isn’t itLol holy **** what a scorecard. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a scorecard like that before.

Given it was televised, I wonder if the highlights are on YouTube. Yes I could look myself but frankly I cbf so someone else do it please
Nice one!
Gonna bookmark this for the bus ride viewing tomm either on the way into office or the ride back.
WAC, I posted this earlierNumber 1 should be India vs Australia 7th odi from the 2013 series which had a lot of meme value (like dhawan mocking Watson's hamstring injury).
In fact you could make a case the entire top 3 should be matches from that series (kohli Rohit chasing 360 in a canter, and the Faulkner vs Ishant Sharma game)
Who the **** cares about world cups
