20/20 cricket

I think a 20/20 game, with nothing at stake, at the end of every tour would be a nice touch.

Using the uniforms from the 70's or 80's was also a capital idea.

Nope you've gotta have it at the start of a tour, it will draw in the interest from outside the usual cricket fans and then hopefully the new fans will keep watching the 50 overs and Tests.

Yeah, the start is better. At the end, who could be bothered? The tour should finish with the most important thing - the test series. The 20/20 match and the tour games come at the start.

Has this ever happened in club cricket around the world that other people know about? Because about ten days ago the Gold Coast Cricket Association played played a charity Twenty20 over match as a Tsunmani Relief fundraiser match.

There you go, it is entering grade cricket.
yeah, in melbourne they had a separate competition for it this year. round robin, then top from each group go through. at least it got people down to watch club cricket.

According to cricinfo commentary Bosman has just six 6s in a row (split across two overs with his partner getting a single in between) in the Lions v Eagles game.

and Kemp wins the battle with Klusener and Pollock

Kemp 4-0-48-2 & 85* from 39 balls (3fours 8 sixes)
Klusener 18 from 9 (2 fours 1 six) and 4-0-56-1
Pollock 59 from 26 (8 fours 3 sixes) and 4-0-31-0

Titans beat Dolphins by 5 wickets with 3 balls to spare. Sounds like a great game. The other game ended in a mauling for the Lions scoring 95 in reply to 225-6

Please....so you really think that's the difference, and that's why 20/20 will succeed and Max failed? Because you can build an innings?
Sorry to bring this up from such a long time ago people... :)

If you have watched even one match of it, you will see that slogging doesn't prevail, proper cricket shots just more of them does. That's why (apart from the last few overs maybe) very little slogging goes on, and the slogging that does go on 9 times out of 10 fails miserably.

yeah i'm not against it in domestic cricket but it would kill international cricket if it was played regularly
Sorry again. :)

And it would kill 50 Over cricket, definately not Tests though. And killing that boring excuse for a game is not a bad thing.
