I remember doing a CW report on a Five5 game last year.

Criag Spearman "anchored" a chase of 43 in 5 overs with a stunning 2 not out batting from opening!
ROTF..

I wonder what happens if it rains in a Five5 game....

Imagine India making 75/3 in 5 overs and Australia having to chase 22 runs in 1 over because of the DL method...

And Hayden "anchoring" the chase with a brilliant 3 not out of 1 ball....

They'd be set 16...

Not really.....Doesn't the DL system take the no. of wickets left for the side batting first into account?
Don't mess with Neil on the D/L method... He has the software to evaluate the exact target.

Not if they haven't lost any overs.

If it was a five over match, 75/3 = 75/0 = 75/9.

New Twenty20 event gets go-ahead

I guess whether it's a relative success or not depends a lot on the weather, I'm sure Langeveldt will be thrilled anyways.
Only at the prospect that the Nashua titans or the Lions might be coming to England.. Not more swipy dross... Hopefully they will stay long enough to play some proper cricket as well

And one things for certain, I'm sure Kolpak CC will be spending their cut on the next swathe of aged South African talent...

Cricket's supposed version of the Champions League starts in about 10 hours, live stream on sportal. Weather looks a bit dodgy later on tho.

Faisalabad won that one by 30 runs, Blackwell and Mohammad Hafeez did all the damage with bat and ball. All the games went to bowl outs yesterday, PCA Masters won 2 and Leicester the other.

4 of the 6 teams go through to the semis anyway, so it's not knockout stuff yet, 1 win and 1 loss will probably be good enough to go through.

 Classic effort from Morne Morkel first up against Chilaw...

. nb4 wd 1 wd 4 nb1 4 4 2

Don't even know why they have him as an opening bowler, they know he's gonna bowl more no-balls than Freddie and Rikki Clarke combined!

Next over wasn't much better:

3 wd . nb. 2 wd . wd1 wd . 6

one of those dots should have been a wide as well.

Absolute shocker for Morne Morkel, 2-0-41-1 earlier and a painful sequence of 3 balls against Gunaratne (spinner):

Heave so hard he ends up looking towards square leg, misses
Heave so hard he ends up looking towards square leg, misses
Heave and looks at the stump rolling about on the floor behind him

ICC upbeat over Twenty20 interest

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/4650348.stm

England and Scotland are among 13 countries to have shown an interest in staging a Twenty20 World Championship.

International Cricket Council chief executive Malcolm Speed said the widespread interest was encouraging.

The Australian said: "For 18 months the ICC have been consistently reviewing the role that Twenty20 cricket could play internationally.

"This response indicates there is strong interest from many parts of the cricket world in this type of event."

The ICC board will consider the concept when it meets in Dubai in March.

Twenty20 was launched as a sideshow in English county cricket to help boost crowd numbers in 2003.

Many countries have now played Twenty20 internationals and the concept has garnered massive support wherever it has been played.

Of current Test nations, only India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have said they would not be willing to stage a World Championship.

Looking more probable that some sort of international Twenty20 will replace the Champions Trophy as their money-raising event.
