Like, I know there have often been murmurings about Starc being patchy. Not really sure what the issue is with Hazlewood. Can’t identity anything particularly damning looking at recent performances?

I know Pattinson is good, but he hasn’t played internationals in years, Siddle is Siddle, and these guys are just usurping Starc and Hazlewood, theoretically in their prime, for an Ashes series, for no particular reason?

Hazlewood's recent form has been pretty dodgy. Not terrible but he certainly hasn't been great. Starc got left out because I think Australia thought he wouldn't exploit seaming pitches all that well.

Pattinson's recent form (admittedly not Tests) has looked hot. Siddle is a weird call but he has dominated in English conditions recently in fairness.

KW and Southee? They wouldn't be the 2 that I'd pick. NZ definitely aren't an ugly side but I wouldn't call them a particularly good looking side either. They're a side of regular, ok-looking blokes

Y'all need to lower your standards. All these professional international athletes look plenty handsome to me.
