Just like we should discuss allegations that Mark Waugh and Shane Warne match fixed and the possibility that the Aussies may have thrown the 1994 Australia v Pakistan test at Karachi ? :D
Good point

I've been sorting through loads of old VHS tapes of old films from the 90's. On one of the tapes from 1999 there is a short Channel 5 news headlines programme.
The main headline of the day centres around the 1999 World Cup Final and a suggestion that Pakistan threw the match, there is even an interview with Wasim Akram refuting the allegations. I remember little about the game other than it finishing about 2pm after a very low Pakistan total which included Inzy getting a bad decision from umpire David Shephard.
Until I saw this old news summary I had no idea that any such suggestion had been made.:surprise:
The problem with you whites is that u hate to miss even minor of the chances of insulting & bringing the asian teams/players into disrepute. We've already suffered more than enough because of u guys, please forgive us now for our crime of being "asians".

That's a very serious allegation, and a baseless one at that. For a start, you don't even know that the poster is white.

The problem with you is that you're obviously infinitely more racist than anyone else who has posted in this thread. Get over your victim mentality. Grow up. And stop using the r-word whenever anyone says anything negative about an asian player or team. It's pathetic.

Absolute shocker of a post. Worse than Vomitgate IMO.
Prob regret asking this, but Vomitgate?

I was always of the belief that it was the Pakistan/Bangladesh game that was the cause of concern in some quarters?

As an asian, I approve this message.

If you start calling everyone racist, that word loses its meaning. While there are people who are actually racist, most are not, and especially not on this forum.

Well said. If we throw around the racist allegation at the drop of a hat, it really weakens our arguments. We become the boy who cried wolf. Besides, on any major "subcontinental" issue, we can debate our points without resorting to cries of racism. Whether it's Murali, Ovalgate, Reverse Swing etc, we have legitimate cricketing points we can make to prove our argument(s)!

It's a fair cop. I've never liked Asian people since an incident many years ago when a group of us were pelted with onions and we all received bruising to our heads except Randir who was protected by his turban.:)

Anyway, returning to the real world for a moment. It's fairly obvious from the first post that I only started this thread because I was surprised that such an allegation was made at the time because I didn't remember anything about it. If the poster is really that bitter or paranoid then I feel sorry for him.

I've noticed a distinct Asia vs Rest of the World vibe on CW in recent times and I wish it would stop.
