Mauka means 'opportunity' or 'chance' in hindi/urdu.

It started with this ad for the India/Pak match on Star Sports:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Za4qBpSQb9A

Basically the Pakistani kid doesn't ever get the chance to light the fireworks because Pakistan keeps losing to India in the world cup, with the final dialogue he says meaning "When will we ever light these?".

This ad is quite hilarious and, as a follow up, Star Sports released another one for India vs South Africa:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dt69oY8T6pc

The narrator reminds the fans in this ad that India hasn't beaten South Africa one in 3 attempts, and says to tune in on the 22nd (today) and we will finally beat them.

So the Cricinfo comic and that (lame) cartoon are just building on that Fireworks and 'Mauka Mauka' meme.

I don't quite get the comic's punchline tho. Amla and ABDV visit the Indian dressing room with fireworks to tease the Indian side, only to show MSD carrying a box full of bombs? Something to suggest that India are prepared to bring more firepower than South Africa's fireworks? IDK, doesn't quite work for me. The Star Sports ads are hilarious tho, IMO.
Generally speaking, the Indian sense of humour sucks balls tbh. GI Hoe excepted.

No one really cares about this game while Afghanistan are playing SL and being decent, do they?

Yeah pleased with Dhawan. He's applied himself solidly both matches. Don't get the hate for Rohit though... today wasn't a dismissal worthy of writing him off again.
Body language. Played a dumb shot vs. Pak when they were having a good spell of bowling and were building pressure. Then today after a slow start he was attemping to steal a run that wasn't there. Dhawan said no clearly yet he kept running down.

Doesn't look like he is up to opening the batting in pressure games tbh. Hope he proves me wrong too tho.

Dhawan isn't outstanding vs. the short ball but when he hooks it right, it's pure ***.
Yeah anything above elbow height he's in trouble. Similar to Ganguly in that respect. Saurav hit some ridiculous pulled sixes off bowlers like Brett Lee and Alan Donald if the bouncer was waist high.

Afgh vs. SL is dead, this match is the one to watch now.

And the first ad was genuine lols; rest of the comics/fan responses/jokes are pretty bleh.

Even the follow up ad wasn't great, but it got the point across and it was funny to see them keep with the meme.

Wish our Kiwi boys can hit the stumps like AB outside trainings, haven't seen one in this WC yet, it can turn a match.

Didn't he knock out Pakistan and Australia in the semi and quarter finals respectively with half centuries in both games?
Oh but he failed in a game where he was chasing 70 million against McGrath, Lee and co. That undoes everything else, obviously.

Why are the commentators talking about that Dhawan pull shot as an example of good batting against short pitched bowling? Good shot, but jeez that was a friendly "bouncer"
