Really solid stuff this by Dhawan, glad to see him get his act together and really apply himself. Apart from those 3 short deliveries he's played the ball totally on merit. Put away the bad deliveries and block the good ones.

not enough urgency shown, this is not going to cut it vs SAF.
yeah what will cut it is India being 40/4 because they tried to hit deliveries that weren't there to be hit. This is a perfectly fine start, a few more runs would be nice, but wkts in hand is key.

Yeah as a SAF fan I'm desperately hoping India read halba's posts and decide to go at good balls and lose wickets.

Not Terrible
Yeah nah. Two new balls against the best pacers in the world. You can always catch up on runs if you don't gift wickets in the first 20.

viriya

International Captain
Just wondering, any reason why Ponting's Drop % is so high?
It just so happens that I'm seeing his drops. It's a little unfair on him though since I only have data from 2006-, and he played the majority of his career before. One thing to notice here is that he has an insane direct hit rate - no one even comes close.

So great to see Dhawan hit some form just as the WC has begun. Excellent.

Not great to see Rohit noping his way out each innings so far.

Yeah pleased with Dhawan. He's applied himself solidly both matches. Don't get the hate for Rohit though... today wasn't a dismissal worthy of writing him off again.
