Monday 14th March
CW Red v CW Green
at the CWBCC Stadium
The quality batsmanship of Andrew Garven was the focal point of Green's score of 282/6, one which was easily defended, despite a bustling half-century by Håkon Mørk. Garven was denied a maiden OD hundred by Sean Bennett, but played well for a new career-high.
Bennett was indeed the pick of the Red bowlers, varying his flight and pace regularly to strangle the middle order somewhat. When time came to bat though, he was the first to go, as Nathan Hoy and Bryce Cunningham claimed 2 wickets each to limit the top order to 63/4.
Dauth and Dobson then set about to rebuild positively, but both were out to injudicious shots. Mørk settled in with good strike rotation, then tried admirably to accelerate in a lost cause at the end. He did accomplish a career-high.
Man of the Match: AJ Garven
CW Blue v CW Black
at the SCG
CW Black all but laughed the Blues out of the Sydney Cricket Ground, with a huge soul-crushing victory over their rivals of last season. If not for a sharp bouncer from Demeza to Chaulk on 99, the Blacks would have accomplished a rare 10-wicket victory, chasing 235 with an opening stand of 219.
Chaulk was denied a century yet again this season, but certainly gave a good account of himself. His partner Loc, though, did bring the goods. His milestone represented an unmatched 5th OD hundred of the season, and he was unbeaten at the end.
The Blacks earlier inserted Blue and had to work to split the opening stand of 77 between Camps and Cloete. The breakthrough did come though, and the Blues never really accelerated from a good platform. Cloete did score a half-century and de Silva was unbeaten on one of his own, but great death bowling by all involved ended the innings in disappointment - 234/7.
Man of the Match: AC Loc

Cricket Web Red has been officially eliminated from the race to become Season 8 OD Champion. The team is still in contention for the Chef de Groot Trophy however.
The incredible race between Black and Green is definitely going down to the wire. Green does have the advantage of the tied game review though.
How important may this fixture be?
