Was just going to say something very similar. If our batsmen don't make mistakes, they can't be given out to dubious decisions. It's really that simple.

Last week England bowled like crap and we took advantage of it. As soon as they bowled a few half decent spells and put some pressure on - we crumbled.

This Chloe Saltau person (f**ked if I know who she is) of The Age has suggested opening with Watto and dropping Hughes. Funny thing is, it could work. Watto can bat. We know that. And if he could at least remain fit enough to bowl a few quality overs here and there.... wtf am I saying?

I'm wondering whether what we are witnessing is a group of players who just have no idea of how to dig in and fight it out. Is this the result of so many years of success? Have we bred a generation of players with no fight? Seems even Katich is losing his fighting qualities :@

PS - I agree that our batsmen need to show some ticker though. Where's JL when you need him?

Speaking for myself, the bowlers deserve to be targetted. We have a strong batting line up and it's normal for 1 or 2 of the group to fail. Hughes may appear to have weaknesses but he is young and we can afford to carry him. Even Hussey managed a half century this time around. We aren't all...

Anyone know Bing's status? Will he play in the tour match? Because if he is fit, he simply has to play in the next test - regardless of who he ousts. We know Johnson won't be dropped, despite his poor form, so Siddle looks like the unlucky candidate.

Think anyone would notice if we substituted him for Hauritz?

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

LOL fair enough. I just know that we leaked about 1000 runs at 3rd man in 2005 and it was extremely annoying. As is the fact that my net connection has dropped out about 1000 times this evening :@

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

The thing that bothers me - being old enough to remember the dim, dark 80s - is that the current lot don't seem to know how to scratch, claw and fight. Our bowling 'attack' is young and inexperienced. To some extent, they can be forgiven (where the hell is the bowling coach????????) but our...

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Translated: Ponting is clueless as a captain .. his field placings are abysmal and he incessantly bowls Johnson

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Poor excuse. The situation demanded disciplined batting: leaving when possible, playing straight when the ball was on the stumps, and putting the bad ball away. From all reports, and from the replays I've seen, that isn't what happened. As I've said in another forum - have we forgotten how to...
