    *Official* England in NZ 2023

How many batsmen have come back from tennis elbow injuries? Sachin is the only one I can really think of being great after it, Smith has returned but is no longer the same run scoring machine he was before.

Nicholls has been **** and shouldn't be in the team. Kane has been **** across formats bar the odd performance here or there against average competition. His batting has clearly declined and he just isn't consistent enough to have at 3. Either try him at 4 to see if he's still got something to...

Seems inevitable if I'm being honest. Can't see him turning it around and more of this against the top teams.

Against Pakistan on absolute roads where he had lives. Don't expect him to score against the top opposition.

He was. It's been downhill since the tennis elbow injury.

I wonder how McCullum feels watching this. Must be bitter sweet. He helped this team get to the top and now it looks like it's all collapsed.

Kane is done. Can't see him coming back.

In walks Blair Tickner. Can he get his partner to a hundred this time? CI trying to be funny. Not funny.
  9. Ultra Instinct

    *Official* England in NZ 2023

Yup once the reflexes start to go, it's not unusual to see a number 3 batsmen move down.

I don't think there will be much to celebrate after this series. England likely to smash us in the second Test as well and make most realize we're in a **** hole currently.

Because Kane isn't good enough to survive the new ball these days. Who knows maybe against the older ball he can survive and score some runs. It's either that or dropping him (which isn't going to happen).

Fair point about Mitchell, okay with giving him a few more series to cement a spot after that England series. Not many want to talk about the elephant in the room (Kane's form). If we lose one early, we can quickly become 2 against the top teams.

Glad someone said it lol. Latham is pretty unreliable against the top teams. Mostly scores against Pakistan, SL, WI and Bangladesh.

Conway, Latham, Kane (at 4), Blundell, Mitchell and Bracewell work. Rest we need to think about. Even with Bracewell if he's not scoring runs, idk if he's worth keeping around. Problem is we don't have many options and he provides a decent spin option. Kane has been really disappointing...

Maybe keeping Kane away from the new ball may resurrect his Test career.

What changes can we really make? Young in for Nicolls, Henry and maybe Jamieson (if he's available? Know he has a stress fracture not sure whether he is available) for Tickner and Kuggelijin. Even so, we aren't going to compete with this English team.

Don't forget losing a Test to Bangladesh at home. We're like second to last in the WTC table which is embarrassing given we won the last one... Selectors are at a real cross roads here and need to make a decision about whether they're fine with these results or that they start to think about...

Fr though what has happened to Kane. Did the tennis elbow kill his career? Looks completely off it outside the odd innings.

No doubt England are awesome, but to go down like this is pretty ****. We still would have lost even if we had a better team. Kuggeleijn and Tickner getting test caps and call ups across formats is the real kicker. They're rubbish and nowhere near international standard, seems like everyone...

How does the domestic circuit look for batsmen and bowlers. It's time for us to just go full on rebuild and gut most of this team. Signs were there that it was the end for this generation of Black Caps after the Bangladesh loss.
