Uh, since when has the 3rd umpire been able to check for caught behind during a stumping review?

We suck.

Time to blow it up and start again. This generation is done, that's Kane included.

How the hell did Kuggeleijn and Tickner get Test caps. Would have been better off giving it to young prospects than 30 year old domestic travelers who have never been international standard.

This is going to be over even quicker than expected. Was personally expecting a futile 60 from Macewell while we limped to 150 all out...but this capitulation is pretty weak

How does the domestic circuit look for batsmen and bowlers.

It's time for us to just go full on rebuild and gut most of this team.

Signs were there that it was the end for this generation of Black Caps after the Bangladesh loss.

We do suck, but to counter that England are very good, and 2-3 different selections wouldn't have made any meaningful difference to the result, except to your point it would give some younger blokes some opportunity.

Bring on the 2023 Ashes!

Is XIXI around to tell us how Anderson is rubbish awy from home, and he's just a matter of doctored pitches at hoeE?

Anyway, a hat-trick would be fun.

No doubt England are awesome, but to go down like this is pretty ****. We still would have lost even if we had a better team.

Kuggeleijn and Tickner getting test caps and call ups across formats is the real kicker. They're rubbish and nowhere near international standard, seems like everyone knows it except the selectors.

At this point I reckon we're better off just playing young players because with our best we're still not going to go anywhere.

Better off investing in the future and hoping they come good than playing the best we have now and going nowhere now and the future.

Had a great day watching the Blundell ton (and Tickner resistance with bat) on Day 2. One of those days that really sticks in your mind because you’ve witnessed something special, and the crowd responded with a long and appreciative standing ovation. The moments that really stick in my mind watching international cricket live at the ground: KW scoring a lovely hundred at the Gabba, the mighty Stoinis ton at Eden Park to drag Australia to the verge of an unlikely victory, and that Blundell ton at Bay Oval.

This is a serious result for NZ cricket. Performances have obviously been on the decline for a while, but NZ hasn’t suffered this kind of a thumping on home soil since prior to McCullum taking over the captaincy in 2012. This needs to be a wake-up call.

Don't forget losing a Test to Bangladesh at home.

We're like second to last in the WTC table which is embarrassing given we won the last one...

Selectors are at a real cross roads here and need to make a decision about whether they're fine with these results or that they start to think about the future and rebuild the team.

You'll get no argument from me defending our limp and moronic selectors, I'm just making the point since our series win in England in 2021, we've got back 5 steps, and their side have moved forward 10 steps so this series was never going to be much of a contest in my mind. In fact England have bordered on being reckless in moments this match, still probably searching for the right balance between positivity and getting carried away - (yes I'm looking at you Joe Root).
