*Official* 2nd Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 13 - 17 Feb 2021

This test match is basically the reverse of the Lords one in 2018 in which India got bundled out twice in swinging conditions. Both matches have involved poor batting in generally unfavourable conditions from the touring side against home bowlers experienced in utilising their respective...

*Official* 2nd Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 13 - 17 Feb 2021

Literally anyone who has watched England test matches in the last year or so would be able to tell you why he isn't there lol.

*Official* 2nd Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 13 - 17 Feb 2021

Think the most effective approach now on this wicket seems to be to come down the track and meet the ball before it spins. Sibley was doing it quite well until he got out a bit unfortunately. That Sharma innings is looking top quality now (it looked that way yesterday as well tbf)

james anderson averages 35 with the kookaburra

Wouldn't necessarily say U.A.E counts as neutral conditions in most circumstances (maybe if they are playing against other teams in the subcontinent). I'm more curious as to how Herath is definitely ahead of Jimmy to be honest.

james anderson averages 35 with the kookaburra

He's done that at an average of 30 though. Also ironic that Shah and Herath both have more lopsided away/home stats than Anderson. Herath's away record is what Jimmy naysayers pretend that his away record is

*Official* 2nd Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 13 - 17 Feb 2021

He was much more consistent though. Even if he was getting carted for a bit in the 1st innings he wasn't bowling non-stop full tosses. If the pitch plays as expected in the next match and turns from ball 1 you can't afford to throw away runs with full tosses. The balls that Leach was bowling...

*Official* 2nd Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 13 - 17 Feb 2021

It isn't so strange imo if you consider his 2nd innings bowling in the last test. It was truly horrendous and if he continues to bowl in that sort of vein we could very easily lose games because of it.

james anderson averages 35 with the kookaburra

Tbh it would be interesting to see Anderson's average with the Kookaburra ball since 2011 or so. Not to say that them being decent would completely make irrelevant his earlier poor stats, but to simply say that Anderson overall averages a bit less than the ball with Danny Morrison is a bit...

*Official* 1st Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 05 - 09 Feb 2021

Assuming you mean that England would add an extra seamer making it four with Stokes, I'm not sure if that would necessarily be the right route. The pink ball hasn't been used yet in India has it? Bit of an unknown quantity and though it will more than likely seam/swing a bit more through the air...

*Official* 1st Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 05 - 09 Feb 2021

Yeah its frustrating to watch when you know that he can bowl very fast, but it seems like sometimes he focuses on just trying to put it in the right areas. His opening spell today was very accurate but fairly slow while his opening spell in the first innings included a lot of poor balls but he...

*Official* 1st Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 05 - 09 Feb 2021

It's not going to happen but a match winning 10fer from Simply the Bess would be glorious. Think a draw is most likely result but tbh I don't think England are doing the wrong thing for batting so long. On a road you just want to bat as long as you can and then hope the pitch deteriorates later...

*Official* South Africa in Pakistan, 2021

Didn't realise that Babar was now sponsored by Grey Nichols. Don't know why but it feels strange to see him using one of their bats.

***Official*** India vs England 2021 General Discussion thread

Kuldeep strikes me as a bowler who loses his head and confidence really easily. Remember in the IPL the year before last (I think) Moeen Ali took him for like 25+ in an over and he was completely demoralised by it. Think he's been found out a bit in the last few years and will be interesting to...

    Josh Hazlewood vs James Anderson

Well no, people were using Anderson's 6/40 to counter the stupid argument that Anderson couldn't bowl away from home. I think it was just you that was obsessed with the atg thing iirc.

    Josh Hazlewood vs James Anderson

I'm not ignoring the early part of his career generally tbf, I just don't think its relevant to a comparison of Anderson and Hazelwood currently - the subject of this discussion - when Anderson has been better over the seven years of Hazelwood's career. You could argue that a lot of people also...

***Official*** India vs England 2021 General Discussion thread

If England were to win one test match, I'd be pretty happy tbh. I suppose the D/N game could give our swing bowlers a bit more to work with, but I think it will be our opening batsmen and spinners that will probably let us down throughout. Sibley and Crawley have been dire against spin starting...

    Josh Hazlewood vs James Anderson

Yeah Hazelwood's a good bowler don't get me wrong. I'm only showing these stats because I think people have been lazily suggesting Anderson has consistently been average away when actually he has grown increasingly better over time to the extent that he is now performing better over an extended...

    Josh Hazlewood vs James Anderson

Since Hazelwood's career began, Anderson has now averaged 24.6 in away conditions, which is actually less than Hazelwood's current career average of 25.65
