    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

I think as an all rounder he’s a massive asset, without his bowling option though I think it’s right we assess his runs like a full time batsman

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Hugely disappointing to crumble as we did but we need to take our medicine on this. As others have said, it appears to me that whilst England are bolder and look to put pressure back on the opposition, there’s an inflexibility to what the do. They appear to do their homework and have “a plan”-...

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Pope looking fidgety and hard hands yet again. Absolutely embarrassing from England, zero idea of how to play this.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Definitely not- these are conditions where Pakistan should have an edge on us and where we still have historical weaknesses in our game, as showed. It will be a frustrating loss because we were right in it and we gave away too many wickets and too many runs at the key moments. But it’s not as...

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

As we said yesterday- this is a slow turner and a 350 score gettable with a little more patience and application. We were 80 short and now we are paying that penalty. Leach not quite threatening enough for me here and you can see looking at some scrambled minds and frustrated fielders that...

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

That’s where the game management isn’t there with this team just yet. Need to learn this because ultimately, whatever edges England closer to batting the day would edge them into a position in this match. The pitch really isn’t that bad so far and I think we’re 100 or so short of a good score.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Ah such a waste for Gus to give his wicket away like that after playing so well. That partnership had Pakistan under pressure but we could get rolled quickly here if they can get Rehan early

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

I think they’ll go 300+ and that this isn’t half the deck England are making it look.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

That’s rubbish from Stokes, reaching for it. The usual mind scramble from England on an actual turning pitch. Disappointing but we can’t hide from the shortcomings. Entire middle order collapses in half a session. Is Sajid this good or are England assisting him a little bit?

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Time for us to take Oli Pope out of the firing line? Think he’s such a talented player but he looks jelly legged as a number 3.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

England cannot cope in the evening floodlight sessions on this pitch, really poor and all at sea. Could be rolled for 100 here

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Key thing is for these two lads to get a good rest and recovery tonight, then reset tomorrow to try and see us into the lead. Would be huge if they could get us to lunch because in the afternoon session with a small lead they could then accelerate with Smith to come. I don’t know whether to...

***Official*** England vs Sri Lanka 21st August-10th September 2024

England had threatened to lose a test all summer- particularly in this Sri Lanka series. It should be a massive wake up call if they are serious about ever doing anything down under. Take nothing away from Sri Lanka however- a couple of their players really have looked the business and played...

***Official*** England vs Sri Lanka 21st August-10th September 2024

Fairly wreckless way of getting out from Lawrence there. England just need one good partnership and the lead would become 200+ which with the tail wagging should become a solid lead. However, we’re now two away from the tail already!! Had the whiff of an innings DL knew might be his last, so...

***Official*** England vs Sri Lanka 21st August-10th September 2024

Ultimately this looks a great first innings pitch to bat on and England probably ended up 100 short of a par score. Sri Lanka coming back into it so England will need to bat well again to get a good lead and utilise the potential of a day 5 turner?

***Official*** England vs Sri Lanka 21st August-10th September 2024

Fabulous innings from Root, but when you’ve got Sri Lanka toiling having looked at one point to be well in with a shout of skittling you, why on earth would you do that with the new ball just around the corner, and the chance for the run rate to go up? Great knock from Gus too by the way...

***Official*** England vs Sri Lanka 21st August-10th September 2024

This whole game England have felt like they could drift towards a surprise defeat and they’re now under some pressure here. They don’t need to do anything mad, they have all the time in the world so rotating the strike is enough, credit to Sri Lanka for doggedly getting themselves a decent lead.

    Graham Thorpe dies aged 55

55 is just no age- RIP to a wonderful cricketer and of course thoughts go out to his loved ones :( Another reminder of how precious life is. Reading some of the earlier comments and can relate - watching Thorpe, Langer and Ponting in my childhood peaked my interest in Kookaburra bats (was he...

*Official* West Indies Tour of England, JULY 9th to 25th, 2024-- 3 TEST MATCHES

Good bit of grit from the Windies after the morning wobble and frankly showing that with just a touch more restraint, we were right to say 450-500 was more of the score that ENG needed. Test Match on our hands if they can get a couple of partnerships to go beyond 350, looking okay so far!
