*OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

At this rate it's looking like another case where the neutrals are talking about a great finale in the making only for England to lose heavily. Their heads are going. Stokes has been passive persisting with spin for too long here.

Rehan has been the best of the 3.

Not sure why Stokes has been so reticent to keep him on/bring him back.

Should have had him bowling straight after lunch.

Why he's not tried himself or used a bit more Atkinson too is baffling as well.

Still put more stock on our batsman at fault here than the bowling effort/captaincy.

100% agree with this

Leach has taken 1 wicket on a pitch tailor-made for him with England on the brink against the worst Pakistan side since the 1960s. Indefensible.

Give it a rest.

His run-out of Jadeja at Hyderabad alone was worth him being there.
Point stands. I love Stokes and will forever cherish his prime years; but on the last four tours, he's averaged early 20s with the bat and taken 3 @ 75 with the ball. He is a no8 in Asia and needs his bowling there.

As we said yesterday- this is a slow turner and a 350 score gettable with a little more patience and application. We were 80 short and now we are paying that penalty.

Leach not quite threatening enough for me here and you can see looking at some scrambled minds and frustrated fielders that England might be folding like a pack of cards when they bat.

The deck isn’t doing anything mad but I can’t see England flexing their sweep heavy approach overnight unfortunately.

Is this a worse defeat than Windies 2019 if we don't escape?
Definitely not- these are conditions where Pakistan should have an edge on us and where we still have historical weaknesses in our game, as showed.

It will be a frustrating loss because we were right in it and we gave away too many wickets and too many runs at the key moments.

But it’s not as bad as that one.

We desperately lack a gritty number 3 in the order and we are still trying to build a more potent spin attack, whereas currently it’s “tidy” or decent at best I would say.
