Will Chanderapul be considered an all time great?

Easily an all time great, the guy averages 50 after 150 matches and has been ultra consistent throughout most of his career despite playing in substandard sides. The only players in WI history you could say are definitively better IMO are Lara, Headley, Sobers and Richards. Allan Border is often...

Do England have the best tail ever to play in any test?

Only Test: Pakistan v Australia at Karachi, Oct 11-17, 1956 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo The aussie one here is insane. Makes up for the shortcomings in the top order

Can Australia rebuild in time for the next Ashes series

The difference with players such as the guys you listed and the aussie youngsters is that england managed to get loads more first class games / test experience pumped into them which fast tracked their development. Bresnan and Finn had a lot more games pumped into them two years ago than...

Should Ross Taylor make a New Zealand Greatest Test XI?

Wouldn't have him in front of Fleming or Astle. Those two have achieved more throughout their careers than taylor has so far, although I can easily imagine Taylor leapfrogging them both by the end of his career. They should all be ahead of Donnelly though, can't see how you can put him in the...

How would you rank the bowling attacks in world cricket as of today ?

If everyone were available England South Africa Pakistan India Australia West Indies Sri Lanka New Zealand Bangladesh England have the best attack in the world atm. 2 world class bowlers in Anderson and Swann combined with great fast bowling depth makes them superior to South Africa who rely a...

Best Test Team In The World?

Can't see how Pakistan can be in the poll when Sri Lanka is not there. Bowling is all class obviously, but the batting is on par, if not worse, than New Zealands IMO. Maybe in 3-5 years if players like Butt and Umar start to develop, but they're nowhere near now. Best team atm would be South...

*Official* Australia vs Pakistan in England

Yeah North was shocking today, played and missed so many times it was a miracle he didn't get out earlier. Paine looked far better at the crease than he did. Actually Paine was looking okay until he got out going for quick runs.

*Official* India in Sri Lanka 2010 - Tests

You still have Gambhir who has been in great form in the last 1-2 years and the best keeper batsman in the world in Dhoni. Dravid and Laxman aren't at the peak of their powers but they're still fairly solid. Only weak link is Yuvraj.

    Kumar Sangakkara- rank him

McGrath and Warne both weren't playing in the match that sanga scored his 190 in iirc. Was still a pretty solid attack mind and a great innings.

*Official* Australia vs Pakistan in England

Steyn is the guy with the swing and pace. Asif relies more on seam movement and accuracy than swing.

Wrist spin - Is it the hardest skill in cricket?

Still, you would've thought there would've been at least one decent Chinaman in 140 years of test cricket. I personally find it incredible that no full time chinaman has ever taken 200 wickets at an average below 30.

Wrist spin - Is it the hardest skill in cricket?

Think the only art that would be harder to master would be to be a good left arm wrist spinner. Can't think of anyone in the history of the game that has actually been a fairly successful Chinaman bowler.

    How to improve test cricket

Definitely making pitches that helps the bowlers more is the most important for mine. Out of all the issues that people like to complain about (umpires, day night tests, bouncer regulations etc) this is really the only thing that actually makes test cricket genuinly boring to watch at times IMO...

    2 Tier test system

Not too keen on the idea tbh. While it may make more games even contests it wouldn't allow great players in lesser teams to prove themselves against the stronger teams. It would be a pity not to see players like Lara for example not given a chance to play against really world class bowling.

    **Official** Tour Matches

Fair enough but since this is a practice match it would've been ideal for North to get a couple of overs earlier on, just for practice as I imagine Australia will be using him in the Ashes if he plays.

Looking good, Katich outperforming Hauritz with the ball here. Any reason why North hasn't had a chance to bowl yet?
