There was only one straight forward chance and after that 30 he really did look impressive so stop talking him downjust because the new guys the Windies bring in are ****house.

yea definately, I thought he showed enough accuracy in his test matches to prove his worth for ODI's.

Ive had it with Mark Gillespie in ODI's. The guy has absolutely know idea where the ball goes after it leaves his hand. A little bit of pace is useless with no control. A poor mans Sean Tait.

After his early worries guptill was sensational. He showed 3 factors which make a fantastic one day innings. Solid(ish) at the top, accumulating through the middle, hitting out at the end. The recent future now looks bleak for Jimmy How as unless Marty has a pretty big fall from grace he will...

****ing hell you fat peice of lard jesse, you could be so good!!! all whingeing aside, did anyone else notice that that screws up our bowling attack for tommorow aswell, because if broom plays then Elliott will have to bowl 10 overs.

Who was your first cricketing icon?

Nathan Astle for me. I just wanted to bat like him and play the cut shot like him I also thought he was an underrated dibbly dobbler. I also have fond memories of the early shane Bond, in the 2002 VB series and the 2003 wc he was just a total gun.

Im not too fussed about McCullum opening if he can just settle down in the first 5 overs at least. he walks down the pitch practically every ball and its just not fooling anyone no more. If he calmsd down his natural game, along with Jesse's will see us score at a decent clip anyway. Really...

I really hope the dropping of How is them more telling him to take a break and find some form domestically before returning to the side rather than a complete"your not good enough" type of dropping.

I wouldnt open with Mcullum, he has been overly agressive and needs to settle down. It would also give marty guptill an oppurtunitty opening. I think Elliot/Ryder can do at least ten between them so I would like to see Broom in for Oram. This comes to... Ryder Guptill Flynn Taylor Broom...

Definately not Trent Boult yet, at least another year. I hope Broom comes in if Oram is out. Hows the weather looking in Welly?

    **Official** NRL 2009 Thread

After the tragedy with Fai, the Warriors will win this year. They are such a strong, tight bunch and this will bring them together and inspire them to do it for Sonny. We saw what they achieved from nowhere last year with the Ruben Wiki beard thing. RIP Sonny Fai

Did you see his 95 in Dunedin? He looked an assured test match 3 and played some cracking shots. The Indians will be a bigger test but if he plays with confidence I am hoping for a good series from him.

Yes, should be a very interesting series this one. On recent form and on paper India would win 2-0( or 3-0). But then history comes into the equation in New Zealand the main issue being conditions. Aha I found what I was looking for... India have not won a test in NZ since 1976 which is 14...

The equation is simple for tommorow: Bowl out Windies in first hour chase down 260 in 75 overs This is the only way I can see a result happening, but the weather also looks a bit dodgy. Good spell from Jimmy Franklin, I imagine he just saved his test spot. I would love to see McCullum, Ryder...

fantastic stuff from tall timmy, Jesse Ryder also looked in stirling touch, evrything was coming right out of the middle its a shame he got out. McIntosh has to stay there now and let others play around him. A couple of small Cameos from McCullum, Vettori, Franklin and Mills will set us in good...
