    Brothers

If it wasnt for the fact that Manchester United offered them so much money years back, Gary and Philip Neville would have achieved more success for England at cricket than any other set of brothers could even dream of....

    The Cricketweb Uncapped XI

Good call. A lot of people who faced Imran and Le Roux when they were at Sussex said that Le Roux was the better bowler. Ill say it quietly so I dont get slaughtered by all the Imran lovers on here. But even Imran himself would have agreed.....

    Summer of Gooch?

It was an amazing summer, 1990, Gooch was getting runs all over the place. 333 in the 1st innings at Lord's. and another hundred in the second. No batsman has ever scored more runs in a single test. And to think that just a year before, Gooch was ready to quit cricket altogether because Terry...

    Best and Worst TV Commentators

Surprised that nobody so far has mentioned Pommie Mbangwa. Not a great commentator, but personally I like him for his enthusiasm.

    Chappell advises Hussey to retire

Speaking as an England fan, who naturally hates all Aussies, especially if they happen to be really good, I think this is an excellent idea! The only batsman to play above expectations for the Aussies in the Ashes series should retire from the game, and let younger failures, sorry batsmen, like...

    Best and Worst TV Commentators

Im almost angry that you reminded me of this idiot, who I had largely managed to block from my mind. His overwhelming love of the Australian cricket team is nothing short of pathetic, best evidenced by his lauding of the awesome brilliant magnificent Glenn McGrath at Lord's in 2005, when he...

    Best and Worst TV Commentators

Ian Smith is the worst Ive ever heard. The way he claimed "not to remember" NZ's running out of Murali when he was merely congratulating his partner for getting a hundred, whilst slagging off England for running out Elliott, was shocking. Most of the subcontinental commentators are either poor...

Rubbish cricketers with a WC medal

I decided to check the squads. and see if there were any names I didnt know. who the heck is Sunil Valson??? Then we have Andrew Zesers??? then the names become more familiar. But from the Aussie victories, the following players were clearly being carried by the rest of the squad: Adam Dale...

who will be the highest runs scorer in this world cup ???

Shane Watson. Not a favourite player of mine, and not regarded as a great batsman by many. But thats my personal tip. The big name Indians have too much pressure on them, and South Africans aways choke in major tournaments.

Captaincy - does it or doesn't it?

Captaincy has had a huge effect on Andrew Strauss. For the 2006-7 tour of Australia, he expected to be named captain. When Flintoff got the nod, if seriously upset him, and he struggled for the next year or so, and even lost his place. He eventually got back in, and since being given the...

    best bowlers in the 90s

If Taylor and Athers open together, we will send the crowd to sleep.... I would go for Athers, but we need someone to play some shots. So maybe Saeed Anwar should bat with him. I did think of Alec Stewart, but although he scored tons of runs, his career test average is under 40, so I gave...

    best bowlers in the 90s

I guess it depends who theyre playing against. If its a team from the 90s or 2000s, then the opposition number 7 will most likely have a better average. If theyre playing a tram from the 70s or 80s, then Wasim will be as good a batsman as his opposite number!

    best bowlers in the 90s

If youre picking a one day side, he's in. As long as he isnt captain. But in a test side, there are a few who were just that tiny bit better. He would be great to have in a squad though. Bring him in for reliability in the 3rd Test of the series of 90s v 80s, when Ambrose is tiring and has...

    best bowlers in the 90s

Pay attention, we're picking Andy Flower behind the stumps, average of over 50! He might have to open in a team of the 90s as well, because we can have an awesome middle order with Sachin, Lara, Inzy and Waugh, yet theres no obvious openers.

    best bowlers in the 90s

Difficult to pick the best out of those, but I guess if you were gonna pick a team of the decade, you would have a 5 man attack of Ambrose, McGrath, Waqar, Wasim, and Warne. Wasim bats at 7 as the all-rounder, so whoever the keeper is in the World XI of the 90s had better be a decent batsman!

Players that are the most overated by CW posters.

Most over-rated is Imran Khan. A great player, but some people here seem to think he was some kind of God. Ive been here about a week, and already Ive learned its a bad move to criticise Imran. Even if there were 20 pace bowlers way better than him.....
