How would 80s WI and 2000s Australia fare in unbeatable current India?

With DRS we'd win easily, if we had some of our best batters in an All time Indian XI we'd beat almost any World XI across ages over 5 or more tests! Like how's this for a stat - India hasn't lost a test in which Shami has played at home 🤷‍♀️ View overall figures [change view] Opposition...

Should exclude stats from pre independence for obvious reasons!

But how can we know the guys in the DRS truck (van?) didn't tamper with the 3 reds, we need a 5th umpire cam in there! No relative to the conditions he's batted in his returns have been poor, basically he's first innings or bust! Take that double at Chennai out & it looks even worse.

Root hasn't under performed relative to any series, take his 200 off from a flat day 1 Chennai deck & he avg sub 20(25?) in the 7 innings after that. From memory Root has played on 8-10 flat decks here & batted first on most of them yet his returns are "relatively" shocking, this includes his...

And the post he replied to clearly meant home series, the overall record itself is 9 series wins in a row & we'd have probably bettered it if that one off test in Bangladesh didn't get washed out. https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-consecutive-series-wins-283958

What last series? It was 2 tests in case you missed it.

This was a tailor made wicket for him, tall bowler/pitch up & down & bowling in second/fourth innings of the game. He's done well but there will be much tougher conditions to bowl in, especially in Aus or Eng. His control was generally good so there's that, if he can keep that control over...

I was worried because it's an inexperienced (batting)team. Conversely the Eng spinners are even more raw, so that's helped quite a bit.

Can't check stats like that on Cricinfo but in current scenario it's relatively easy. Especially since it's the home team.

This pitch is probably at its deadliest when the ball is relatively hard but gripping, I don't recall where each of the collapses or mini collapses in 3 innings happened but excluding the first session I'd guesstimate around 20/30 - 50/60 so roughly 30-40 overs where the ball does a lot also...

There's very few wickets that can turn their nature as much in a day, or session, as this has done over 3 days now! After day 2 it looked bad but has probably exceeded everyone's expectations in terms of balls not exploding/rolling along the floor regularly.

Tbf that is a lost art, the reason why our past batters were great against spin is because of this. They could use the occasional sweep, SRT/Sehwag/VVS/Ganguly/Siddhu(?) all had it, but more importantly jump out of the crease to disrupt bowler's lengths! Sweep becomes 2x as effective if you do...

Fiddling with the same DRS where at least 4 close calls went against them, in one innings? Is he staying in the same hotel as Stokes?
