    *Official* India in Pakistan Thread

http://in.sports.yahoo.com/040410/149/2chjd.html Can someone please translate the conversation between Anil Kumble and Asim Kamal at the bottom of the article? Thanks.

    Chokers in the game today!

I have no idea what you mean. I think Indians of all classes and castes think Tendulkar to be overrated and overhyped. Similarly Indians of all classes and castes think Tendulkar to be wonderful.

    What attracted you to cricket?

    That's rough.

    Streak Sacked As Zimbabwe Captain

Maybe what we need is some sort of draft. Let every country, selecting backwards in order of some combined ODI/Test rankings scheme select a player from Zimbabwe to play for their country. So Bangladesh could select Heath Streak, etc. When India comes to pick, we can surprise the world by...

    Is Tendulkar a choker

It seems like you were saying that Tendulkar is a choker. Though to be honest I really didn't understand what you wrote at all.

    Is Tendulkar a choker

! When Tendulkar delivers one innings like Gavaskar's 102 in the 4th innings in Trinidad against Clive Lloyd's West Indies chasing 406 to win with India already down 1-0 in the series, then maybe he can stake that claim. Merely piling on run after run shows me nothing except he can put bat on...

    India cancel Bangaldesh series

Fair points, but this is all aside from the main point of this thread. The Indian tour being canceled was clearly a mutual decision or at at least a decision the Bangladesh board was okay with. Notice there are no articles on Cricinfo detailing any Bangladeshi anger or complaint-lodging from the...

    What attracted you to cricket?

And also, since I saw my first fast bowler in action (which I think may have been Javagal Srinath) I decided that fast bowling is the coolest thing on the planet!

    What attracted you to cricket?

I really have no idea. I've been born and brought up in the U.S., and though my parents are from India, I never was really exposed to it at all, but for some reason, when I went there a few years back, I really enjoyed the matches I saw and I've slowly become increasingly interested in it...

    Chokers in the game today!

I think you'll find many more Indians than non-Indians who think Tendulkar's not all he's cracked up to be. In fact, in my discussions of cricket, all the people who dislike Tendulkar and think he's not really that good are Indian! Non-Indians love the guy!

High time ICC have a check on the umpires

I think Hawkeye can be programmed to account for variations of the ball in air. Marc and Lucky Eddie seem to underestimate the level of sophistication involved in Hawkeye. Hawkeye is more accurate than a human being! Face it. Asking me to provide evidence is like Aquinas' infinite regression...

The critical element in that quote is "IMO". Your opinion seems deluded at times, such as in this occasion.

    Indian Selections

My Starting XI for the Rawalpindi Test for India would be: Parthiv Patel Virender Sehwag Rahul Dravid VVS Laxman Sourav Ganguly Sachin Tendulkar Yuvraj Singh Irfan Pathan Lakshmipathy Balaji Anil Kumble Ashish Nehra The thinking behind Patel opening is that I think he can just help see out...

High time ICC have a check on the umpires

Computers can launch missiles thousands of miles with pinpoint accuracy. Computers can fly planes (and surely land them too, if not for the pilot's union), and yet computer's can figure out how much bounce a ball is going to get. Maybe on the first ball delivered, when the computer has no...

    *Official* India in Pakistan Thread

Lucky Eddie, as much as this pains me (:P ) I must agree with Tooextracool. Sure, there's been a lot of pressure on Tendulkar, and definitely more than the rest of the batsmen. But the definition of choking is "underperforming under pressure". So he underperforms because he is under a ton of...

Does Ganguly merit a place in Indian test side as a batsman alone?

Re: What difference does it make? !!! I disagree! He's captained three test matches, and gone 1-1-1, which isn't that bad really. Except he couldn't beat New Zealand at home (admittedly it was a placid track), and idiotically chose to bat first at Lahore. At Multan, he was lucky that Sehwag...
