Murali's reputation in tatters? Check this out.

I don't think Broad could accurately tell. What he sees is video footage - not live action from close range. He could easily make a mistake because of this.

Murali's reputation in tatters? Check this out.

He bowls around 50 in a game but i don't know about the doosra. That could well be slower because its out of the back of the hand.

are you kidding...? Ross Emerson called him for chucking leg breaks! Emerson deserved what he got.

Murali's reputation in tatters? Check this out.

The problem begins if he says "thats not the real action". Then what? If his word is taken like the Bible then he isn't equivalent to a witness in a court case but the judge himself!

Murali's reputation in tatters? Check this out.

Yeh this is a good point. However if Broad says he isn't bowling properly then what? In a court of law, Murali would be able to say yes he is and both sides could argue. This will not be the case with bowling actions. If the ICC undermine their own match referee by listening to a player they'd...

Murali's reputation in tatters? Check this out.

Are you kidding? The people who accuse someone of a crime and the people who judge him should be separate (just like police / courts in the jury system). If this is to be the case, Broad quite clearly should not be involved in the UWA tests.

Murali's reputation in tatters? Check this out.

yeh thats my point. Yardley might be biased but Elliot isn't. And Elliot said it would be almost impossible for Murli to change his action and still keep the same arm speed. "You would have to say it would be very difficult for someone to actively change their motion in less than one-hundredth...

Murali's reputation in tatters? Check this out.

No this is what I meant - you are saying that the tests aren't credible because some of those involved in the testing were somehow affiliated with Murali. However, the chief tester was Bruce Elliot, who QUESTIONED the doosra even before it was cited by a match official. So Elliot is quite...

Not true. Bruce Elliot was the one who first questioned the legality of the doosra (yes even BEFORE Broad) and now he has exonerated it. Thats pretty compelling evidence you must say.

how can they get it "right" when the ICC has put in place such convoluted regulations

If you had followed the link my in first post.... "doosra' is not excessive and that should not therefore be deemed advantageous" "Finally it is our considered opinion that Mr. Muralitharan be permitted to continue bowling his `doosra' at least until a valid data base is collected on various...

Well I don't think its fair to ban the doosra when an ICC approved biomechanic says its not cheating.

Ok im from AUS so i don't know if the English media is up to date. But a leading cricket site just reported "The report into Muttiah Muralitharan's controversial action has been leaked to an Indian newspaper, which says his 'doosra' delivery is legal and he should continue to be allowed to...

Not so. The ICC haven't commented since they received the report from SLC. They couldnt possibly have banned it before this either.

uhuh Yeah this is what i'm thinking also. As I said, if I was him i'd keep bowling it.

Lots of people are losing their respect for Murali because he continues bowling the doosra. I must admit, I did too. However this latest leaked official report reveals a very different story. READ IT AT http://www.hindu.com/2004/04/29/stories/2004042905562200.htm If I was Murali and I saw...

i'm a bit concerned about Brad Williams and what might transpire if he confronts Sangakkara... could we see a repeat of Sarwan-McGrath??

    Is Warne better than Muralitharan?

a flipper skids whereas a top spinner bounces more, right?
