    12th Match - Afghanistan v Sri Lanka

That is a classic example of why DRS as it's used in the modern game is not a good tool, if the ball would have hit the stumps then it should be out. This "umpires call" buisness is just a cop out to protect umpires, you either go all in with something like this or you don't do it at all.

    14th Match - England v Scotland

As has been well documented I am not a fan of minnows in this World Cup, but given the way England have played they are ripe for the taking really, hoping England can somehow get past them otherwise it will be a sad state of affairs

    12th Match - Afghanistan v Sri Lanka

The way Afghanistan are batting they seem to be here for a good time not a long time!

    6th Match - New Zealand v Scotland

A minnow should be made to play a certain amount of List A matches each year and should have to achieve certain targets in terms of results if they don't achieve if then no One Day status for them. This is a World Cup not an NGO you can't just go handing out ODI status willy nilly to teams that...

    6th Match - New Zealand v Scotland

Boult is a wonderful swing bowler who is very dangerous in such conditions.

    6th Match - New Zealand v Scotland

Absolutely right! Had New Zealand been playing a proper team they wouldn't have played with such abandon but they knew the result was never in doubt, this is what essentially devalues these contests with minnows, they are not worthy full ODI status

    6th Match - New Zealand v Scotland

This match doesn't deserve ODI status, it devalues the game this is like men against boys to be frank!

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

I have done the maths, we were experimenting in that series giving guys like Raydu a run out Sharma was rested/injured and Kohli one of the best number 3s batted at 4. Yet in the must win game you still struggled to chase down a poor total of 200. I would be very confident of facing England and...

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

A loss to Australia and a couple scrappy performances against England mean we aren't certain to beat Ireland? I think you are the one speaking nonsense mate, in our last 3 ICC events we have only lost 2 matches, one against South Africa and one against Sri Lanka. We won't lose to a minnow...

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

Since 1996 when West Indies slipped up v Kenya they gave always done ok against the minnows, their recent form has been bad but that shouldn't matter against a non Test Playing team, afterall Joyce is no AB and Mooney is no Steyn or Morkel. Ireland themselves lost to Scotland last week as well...

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

And I am hoping to wake up next to Jennifer Lopez, both are equally unlikely, nice to dream though that's cute :)

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

A freak result and also a very unfortunate one for the game, more often that not a minnow like Ireland would fall well short of such a target, a plucky effort from them. West Indies now need to win one of the matches against a Test playing team, (Pakistan would be most likely) and order would...

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

See I think this is where people get too caught up in wanting to blast sides out, have a look when we beat Sri Lanka 5-0 often they would be in the game but our bowlers are so good at choking the scoring pushing up that requires run rate and out pressure on them that way! We did it again today...
  14. Bleed_Blue

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

Disagree with you, take the tri series we were experimenting with our batting Kohli at 4 etc and didn't really click but were still competitive for the ball, for example even after being bowled out for 200 by England we had them 7 down and 60 odd for 5 at one stage, hardly a terrible bowling...

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

Yes perfect start from the defending champions yesterday :) nothing unfortunate about that! Anyway we are talking about minnows so I don't know why you have to talk about the World Champions!
  16. Bleed_Blue

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

All the more reason to hope West Indies win today as they should minnows devalue this tournament.
  17. Bleed_Blue

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

No they don't! They have a few medium pacers and spinners that's it nothing more than journeyman county bowlers! Our strength is our batting but we are excellent at bowling in ODI not by blasting a side out but creating pressure and taking chances that way, it's what we did in the game v...

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

I thought this is a World Cup forum not a comedy thread, don't talk nonsense.
  19. Bleed_Blue

    5th Match - Ireland v West Indies

Poor from the West Indies so far, a very bizarre approach to their innings with that being said they are only playing a minnow so 200+ should n more than enough, 180 may even do the trick.

    4th Match - India v Pakistan

Sensational performance, a tactical master stroke from Dhoni to bring back a struggling Yadhav who then got 2 poles. Proud of the team for bringing home the bacon! This really sets us up well to have a great tournament.
