And now it's pretty much over, with Ramdin gone so quickly.

Well, England might go through a whole lot of frustration here if they are to win - stubborn short rain episodes and good batting so far.

    Statutory minimum overs-per-day?

there was this talk some months ago... and we came up with the idea of a 25-run penalty per session if the mandatory 30 overs are not bowled. Richard may remember it.

New Zealand, have a strong affection for that country, so unique in all ways, and the sporting teams aren't bad. And that anthem... my oh my.

Why Test Cricket is the Greatest Game of All

well, if you mention "natural rivalries", you may invent some regional tournaments to raise the standards for nations below test level. say: Ireland, Scotland, Holland - or Bermuda, Canada, USA - or Nepal, UAE, China, triangulars like that, with 4 day matches, home and away. with some support...

Why Test Cricket is the Greatest Game of All

While we're at it, what are (or should be) the criteria for Test status? From a purely sporting point of view, board politics notwithstanding.

    **Official** England in New Zealand

I woke up at 3 a.m. here (1 a.m. UK time) to see how things were going, was quite surprised of the scoreline :) Good one, Black Caps, very nice match. Can't wait for the next one.

Why Test Cricket is the Greatest Game of All

The concept, the look and elegance of Test cricket have no comparison in sports today. And more often than not it can be epic as well.

    **Official** England in New Zealand

I'm up to see at least the first hour and presumably on Friday night most of the action - hope for a good one :) I can see that (except WK) the England team is pretty much the same as last summer. How is the pitch? Last time I checked there were drizzles in Hamilton.

    **Official** South Africa in Bangladesh

I actually went to sleep after the first half hour of the South African innings, when they rolled to 31-0. It was obvious that Bangladeshi bowlers were no threat. good match though, the second one would be intriguing as well.

204 in 8 sessions, absolutely at hand... if SA lose from here, they deserve to lose :) (I just hope the umpires get their calls right, 'cause i'm sure there will be some decisions at the limits)

    **Official** South Africa in Bangladesh

Sure, I'd be happy for Bangladesh to bat all day tomorrow, but a more realistic projection would be 200-250 all out and then try to dismiss the Saffies for less than 300. I don't think they can stay at bat more than two sessions from now, there were some very close balls which would have sent...

    **Official** South Africa in Bangladesh

Very interesting, to say the least. Bangladesh have a chance if they can put some 250+ in the 2nd innings - which would mean to stay at bat at least since tomorrow's lunch break. Now it's all in their hands if they can produce some real Test batting - with wit and concentration. Loving this match.

Yea, I've been watching this morning and the Bangladeshis have lots of talent, but awfully lack discipline at the crease. The bowlers didn't start bad, as I type they took two wickets.

first cricket contest I've seen in a long time.. Vettori man of the match for NZ, batted alright and kept them in the game while bowling, after he was gone the bowling crashed. good one anyway, should be a fine match on Wednesday.
