*Official* West Indies Tour of England, JULY 9th to 25th, 2024-- 3 TEST MATCHES

How many 'drag ons' have we seen in this series now? Huge wicket. Windies are definitely no mugs with ball in hand. England are irritatingly lackadaisical.

Only just tuned in as didn't realise it was on 'Sky Showcase'.

I reckon Root is feeling quite nostalgic about it.

England are making a right mess of this half hour.

Same here. No doubt the team batting first will be 9-3 after 15 balls.

Pretty hopeless game management really isn't it. 15 mins from close, flash at a wide one. Nightwatchman comes in and you heave outside off and drag on. The number 3 you tried to protect ends up coming out anyway.

86-8 innings close. Another great game then. So glad we've given over the best part of the cricketing summer to this.

England would be appalled with themselves with this run rate in the first few overs of a test innings.

Did Josh Little not make himself available for the test match?

Yep, along with his brother Roy I believe. Sad news indeed. Hadn't heard that. RIP.

The teams batting first in this competition is reminding me of me trying to play cricket captain.

I did think of Collingwood. Who on here remembers Vince Clarke? (of Derbys and Leics, not Depeche Mode). He was a 6 '4" leggie who was desperate to to get in on the mid 90's craze that was dibblies.

Have we had a thread on here to discuss the most dibbly dobbly bowler ever? Vince Wells, Ian Austin, Mark Alleyne are the 90s stand outs for me.

World cricket needs a strong West Indies. I hope they get there again. Watching that great side with Greenidge, Haynes, Richards, Lloyd, Marshall, Garner, Holding etc etc played no small part in me falling in love with the game, not to mention the energy of their followers.

    Metro Bank One Day Cup

Being from Suffolk, I miss the Minor Counties being involved in List A tournaments properly. Can recall seeing a Natwest Trophy tie v Worcs. Hick and Botham featuring but the true match winner being the dibbly dobblies of Stuart Lampitt.
