    Absurdly Awesome Cricket Stats

Isn't Root closing in the record for most runs in a calendar year or something like that?? And England have what, 5 tests left this year....

Which Decade Saw the Best Players Debut?

Y Yeah I'll go with Qasim. And he was actually decent outside Pakistan.

Which Decade Saw the Best Players Debut?

The 70s or 90s, then the rest. The 70s really doesn't have a better spinner? And for the 90s, curious why Saeed isn't an option as an opener for 90s.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

The bowling is very good at home assuming it consists of: Seales, Shamar, Motie and Roach/Holder. Away no chance and the batting is honestly the worst I've seen since I've been following cricket. So Pakistan >>WI.

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

No, no it's not. Wi are 3rd class level tbh

    Desmond Haynes vs David Warner

Both suck away but in one of his last series I recall Haynes making runs vs a red hot Waqar and Akram in the WI. Plus I'm biased.

So who is really the 2nd best modern opener?

Boycott Smith Greenidge Hayden Sehwag Saeed Cook

Kane Williamson not in league of other elite test batters

Well yeah, batting away now is probably harder and wickets then, were generally flatter. And teams like India, Australia and RSA are pretty formidable at home bowling wise.

Kane Williamson not in league of other elite test batters

Gayle is in no way shape or form comparable to Kane but ignoring India, he did face good attacks away to all of the above: Aus, SL, RSA and Eng. For example, his first series in Australia came vs McWarne, Lee and Macgill. He famously struggled away to SL when they had Vaas and Murali. He scored...

    Fifth Best Test Opener

On further review, I'll have to go with Sir Geoffrey. Solid solid performer. Also, solid record home and away vs most teams.

    Fifth Best Test Opener

I tend to go with Boycott, Smith, Gordon then the rest. Others I rate highly include: Saeed, Simpson, Sehwag, and Hayden.

Lara vs De Villiers against pace

Well yeah prime Ambrose and Steyn were probably closer to fast. Most of what i know about Imran was radio coverage, very little televised. Bumrah is probably fast as well yes.

    Ravichandran Ashwin vs Allan Donald

I'm not Subs. Kallis a better cricketer than Ashwin. Who cares about his batting strike rate, we're talking about tests. And his bowling and Ashwins batting pretty much cancel each other out. Kallis is a much much better fielder. And batting wise, was effective home and away.

    Ravichandran Ashwin vs Allan Donald

I hope you're being sarcastic because Kallis is imo a better cricketer than Ashwin.

Kane Williamson not in league of other elite test batters

WI have 8? Viv, Lara, Sobers, Headley, Shiv, Weekes, Walcott and who else??

Lara vs De Villiers against pace

Lara and I'm so happy for those who understand that the question says "pace" bowling not express, which means medium, fast medium and the whole lot should be included. In that respect, it's BCL. But I wouldn't say easily, because ABD was also a class player.
