    Cricket team draft

So far my team is looking like this: 1. 2. 3. 4. Brian Lara 5. 6. 7. Richard Hadlee 8. Richie Benaud 9. Ian Healy 10. Daniel Vettori 11. With Michael Hussey to fit in somewhere. He could open, if I fail to grab any, and I want Lara to stay in the middle order, so he wont be opening.

    Cricket team draft

I've got an allrounder on my mind, who I will probably go for next round, but he will surely be taken by then. Probably the one everyone is talking about.

I thought it was down leg as well.

    Cricket team draft

I grabbed my bowlers early, and now I get to pick batsmen for the rest of it. Maybe an extra quick in there if needed, but doubt I will.

    ***Official*** South Africa In Australia

Sizzling Siddle stuns Saffa’s! Victorian paceman Peter Siddle has stunned the South Africans and the fans by claiming his first 5-wicket-haul on day 3 of the New Years test to clean up the tail. On the day renamed ‘Jane McGrath day’ he recorded his best innings figures of 5/59 and kept...

    **Official** NRL 2009 Thread

We should start up an NRL.com tipping comp for CricketWeb members only IMO. I will start it closer to the start of the season if needed.

    Cricket team draft

Will probably run with Vettori at 7 to be honest, Healy at 6. That may be a bit high for Healy, but oh well.

    **Official** NRL 2009 Thread

It's terrible. They have now given up the search for the day as well.

Richie Benaud Handy cricketer, 248 wickets @ 27.03 and 2201 runs @ 24.45 as well. Dunno why I want 2 spinners though.

    Cricket team draft

I think I will go for a second spinner in John Briggs, who was a left arm orthodox bowler, who took 2221 first class wickets @ 15.95 and 118 test wickets @ 17.75. Also scored a test century, and 10 first class century, a very handy batsmen. My team so far: Hadlee Lara Hussey Healy Vettori...

    Cricket Bat Survey...

Not custom made, but a hand made bat from Jullian Millichamp (a screaming cat) is what I am looking at at the moment.

    Cricket Books

I've got 100 years of test cricket and Ricky Ponting 2008 diary to read that I got for Christmas, when I finish a book from the library (not cricket related) I will get stuck into them.

    Fate of 2011 World Cup

It would be nice to have it staged in Australia, but it's so far away it could still be held on the sub-continent somewhere. Anything is possible at the moment, but I'm hoping Australia gets it.

    How to oil bat correctly?

I use an old cloth with the bat oil, and apply it. Do the front and edges, and toe if you don't have a toeguard. Avoid the splice, and it doesn't really matter if you touch the stickers a little bit. To see if you have done too much, hold the bat vertical and see if any oil runs down the face...
