    I don't know the history behind them, but it looks to me like the character is something similar to a golliwog character, in which case it definitely is a symbol of racism. I mean, it's (the golliwog) obviously based on a negative racial stereotype of the simple (stupid), but friendly and loyal...

    It's not the speed of the bowler, but the style. You can see that in other bowlers - see the difference between McGrath and Lee for example. VRV tends to use his height to get bounce so the ball is more likely to hurry the batsman a bit, Pathan's bouncers tend to sit up at a good hitting height...

    Pathan being given a chance to prove himself here...and failing miserably with 11 overs for 74. Hopefully Munaf is deemed to be match fit, but if not, I'd rather VRV than Pathan. VRV is less likely to serve up easy four balls and can at least hurry the batsman on a bit.

    Pretty good sides....only change I'd make is Sehwag for Hayden in the Test side. Can't think of any other glaring omissions.
