    Super Eight

^Man, you're eager to sink the boot into India...a bit annoying tbh.

Group B - Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Bermuda

Probably a better bowler than batsman right now. May as well play him as the fifth bowler and bat him down at 7.

That'd only be Sehwag....don't think he lost the game single-handedly.

Group B - Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Bermuda

Haha, I wouldn't say that as India play Bermuda before Bangladesh do. Anyway, I'd be more worried about how India will do against Sri Lanka.

Group B - Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Bermuda

Correct...but, I think Bangladesh will comprehensively beat Bermuda, so it could turn out that NRR does come into play.

...in 2011. Seriously though, I think India could win against Sri Lanka. I have no doubt they'll at least put in a better performance than they did today.

Group D - Pakistan, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland

Agree with that wholeheartedly. I love the Pakistani team, but I also love to see the lesser teams toppling the big teams...I really can't feel bad about India losing to Bangladesh or Pakistan losing to Ireland.

Group B - Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Bermuda

Eek. Have to say well done to Bangladesh. Bowled beautifully and chased a moderate total pretty well. Well deserved victory imo, hope that this means good things for Bangladesh cricket both in this World Cup and in the future. I suppose this India must win against Sri Lanka....possible, but who...

India do play spin well. One game doesn't make much of a difference.

Bangladesh Believes India Has A Weaker Bowling Attack

I don't think Dhoni's inconsistent at all...he had a poor patch around the DLF Cup, but he's been very consistent from the Champions Trophy onwards. Also, Tendulkar might not be at his best (as his best is incredibly good) but he's been in pretty good ODI form of late, and Dravid has also been...

Richards and Marshall or Ponting and McGrath?

    McGrath has limited talent?

    Where does Ricky Ponting rank?

Problem is you said he certainly has got runs in all conditions which isn't true. Anyway, Dravid's record in Australia minus the 233 is still better than Ponting's record in India...even his record from his first tour to Australia is slightly better than Ponting's in India.

The only player who has been selected on past performances is Kumble....most of the other players in the squad have shown good form and are the best options available. Anyway, if you want youngsters, I'd say Uthappa (and possibly even Karthik, Sreesanth and Munaf) qualify.

    Where does Ricky Ponting rank?

    I had a look at all current players averaging over 50 and their averages in innings where they've passed 20: Ponting - 86.76 Kallis - 87.83 Dravid - 85.01 Tendulkar - 89.82 Lara - 85.82 Sangakkara - 77.03 Hayden - 76.04 Yousuf - 89.88 Inzamam - 81.71 ...and some other players for comparison...

That was in Test matches, where Ganguly has always been a middle order player. He's opened in every ODI he's played since his comeback and has done extremely well.

I'm going to stick to watching the 2nd innings on weekdays I think....5:30am is ok. Probably won't bother with sleep on weekends, I can catch up some other time.
